365 days ago, our comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris gave light to the darkness, even if it was the light of his final explosion, at the end of a burning path.
Kyriakos was a resourceful and active anarchist fighter who participated in the entire spectrum of the struggle. From marches, interventions, microphone demos to clashes with the forces of repression. He was present on all the fronts and areas of the struggle. He participated in solidarity assemblies for imprisoned fighters, in anti-fascist coordinations, in actions in favour of occupations, in solidarity with immigrants, against war and imperialism, in solidarity with the struggles of the Palestinians, in struggles against gentrification and patriarchy. And of course in direct revolutionary action and the armed choice.
A multifaceted fighter who used every means with imagination where the conditions corresponded to each action. With humility, patience and a smile, Kyriakos was there to support any field he chose with the appropriate means. Until his final proud assault on the sky.
Direct action is the means to keep the revolutionary memory warm and alive. The insurgent culture and tradition is not just a slogan, nor the solution to every problem of the struggle. But it is the spark that brings to the here and now the flame and the baton of those who fell on the battlefield. It is the way to honour, remember and continue the work of those who gave their lives for the revolutionary perspective. In this way, there is a continuation of the tradition, we destroy fear, we take the initiative of movements and we highlight that no enemy is invulnerable, no goal is inaccessible.
In an era of talk, Kyriakos Xymitiris chose to act.
In a time of inaction, Kyriakos chose to step forward.
In an era of “leave it for tomorrow”, Kyriakos chose to seize the Now.
Honouring our comrade, honouring his memory and his choices, we chose to attack the following targets with fire over recent days:
• the political office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and New Democracy MP Ch. Theocharis in Agios Dimitrios.
• the representative office of the American automobile manufacturer Ford in Polygono Area.
Solidarity with all the comrades prosecuted for the Ampelokipi case.
