HPG Guerrillas Continued to Strike and Punished 9 Occupiers

The press center of the HPG reports:

“The freedom guerrillas of Kurdistan continue their historic resistance by fighting the invading attacks with a spirit of sacrifice. As a result of the effective actions of our mobile teams using the rich new era guerrilla tactics,  9 occupiers were punished, 2 occupiers were injured, 1 position and 1 telescope were destroyed, 1 attack helicopter and 1 armored excavator were also hit.

Unable to break the resistance of our armed forces, the war criminal Turkish army bombed the fighting positions in the resistance areas 13 times with chemical weapons and explosives, 10 times with warplanes, 11 times with attack helicopters and dozens of times with howitzers and tanks.

The details of the actions and attacks performed are as follows:

As part of the revolutionary offensive Bazên Zagros in the Xakurke region;

  • At 17:30 on July 19, the invaders in Girê Şehid Şahan were attacked by our mobile teams and fired with heavy weapons. As a result of effective hits by our forces, 1 position was destroyed and 2 occupiers were punished.

In the Zap region as part of the revolutionary Bazên Zagros offensive;

  • At 11:00 p.m. on July 19, helicopter gunships attempting to bomb the Çemço resistance area came under heavy fire. Due to the intervention of our emergency services, a helicopter was hit and had to leave the area.
  • On July 19 at 12:30 p.m., the invaders who wanted to place telescopes in the wartime tunnels in the Şikefta Birîndara resistance area were attacked and fired upon by our armed forces with individual weapons. In this action, 1 occupier was punished and 1 telescope was destroyed. After the action, an armored excavator that wanted to advance towards the battle positions was attacked by our forces with heavy weapons and this excavator was hit.

As part of the revolutionary offensive Cenga Xabûre Şehid Savaş Maraş;

  • At 08:15 on July 19, the occupiers in the Girê Cûdî resistance area were attacked and fired upon by our mobile teams using sniper tactics and 1 occupier was punished.
  • At 09:55 on July 19, our forces used sabotage tactics to hit the occupiers who wanted to move towards the fighting positions in the Girê Amediyê resistance area. In this action, 3 occupiers were punished and 2 occupiers injured.
  • At 12:00 on July 19, our forces attacked and shot the occupiers traveling in the Girê Amediyê resistance area, and two occupiers were punished.
  • On July 19, at 06:30 and 07:30, our armed forces intervened with grenades and individual weapons against the occupiers who wanted to advance towards the fighting positions in the Girê Amediyê resistance area. After the effective hits of our forces, the occupiers had to retreat a step.

Attacks by the occupying Turkish army with chemical weapons and explosives;

  • On July 19, chemical weapons were used three times in combat positions in the Girê Amediyê resistance area. The chemical used; It has been found to emit an intense black smoke and burns the throat and eyes.
  • On July 19, the Werxelê and Karker resistance areas were bombed five times with chemical weapons and explosives.
  • On July 19, the Şikefta Birîndara resistance area was bombed three times with chemical weapons and explosives and twice with phosphorus bombs. It has been found that the smell of the chemicals used is bitter and the color is between yellow and green, and it reacts when it comes in contact with water and causes harm to the human body.

The attacks of the invading Turkish army with howitzers, tanks, helicopters and fighter planes;

  • On July 19, drone activity was observed over Çemço, Girê Amediyê, Girê Cûdî, Girê FM and Girê Hakkarî resistance areas.
  • On July 19, the Girê Şehid Heqî area in Xakurkê and the resistance areas of Şikefta Birîndara, Saca, Sîda and Çemço were bombed ten times by warplanes.
  • On July 19, the resistance areas of Girê Hakkarî, Girê Cûdî and Çemço were bombed eleven times by helicopter gunships.
  • On July 19 and 20, the resistance areas of Şikefta Birîndara, Girê Amediyê, Girê Cûdî, Girê FM and Girê Hakkarî were bombed dozens of times by tanks and howitzers fired from border police stations.”
