Guerrilla Attack on Paramilitary in Philippines

The spokesperson for the Central Negros Front of the New People’s Army (NPA), claimed yesterday Sunday, the execution of a paramilitary from the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) in the city of Moises Padilla, Western Negros, last week.

Joselito Raboy, active member of the Barangay Montilla Cafgu patrol base, under the orders of the 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB), was traveling on his motorcycle in Sitio Kabayabasan when a guerrilla commando blocked the passage and shot him. Raboy had been one of those who launched an operation that had led to the death of civilians in Sitio Banderahan, in July. He was also with the soldiers of the 62nd IB and the special action force of the National Police of the Philippines in the anti-guerrilla attack of Sitio Kambairan. Raboy is one of the three CAFGUs that had ransacked houses of Sitio Bayabasan by threatening the villagers suspected of helping guerrilla warfare.

“Raboy’s punishment will serve as a warning to those who are part of the army and police fascist machinery in exchange for money,” said an NPA spokesman.
