Gerîla TV released a film about the heavy blows inflicted by the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla on the Turkish invasion forces with new strategies and creative tactics.
The film features revolutionary operations and actions defined as the historic steps of the new guerrilla move from autumn 2023 to spring 2024.
The film begins with a short historical presentation and the remarks of Murat Karayılan, Commander of the Headquarters of the People’s Defence Centre, ‘We are acting with a strategy. We want to defeat the enemy with this strategy.’
The one-hour film is entitled ‘An hûnê biçin, an hûnê bimrin’ (Either you will go, or you will die).
At the beginning of the film, the self-sacrificial martyrs of the Immortals Battalion are commemorated, with the pre-action words of Rojhat Zîlan, who carried out a self-sacrificial action in Ankara on 1 October 2023 together with Erdal Şahin: “This new process should have started much earlier (…) We have nothing to lose. We must be convinced of this. We must take big steps, not small ones. Small steps will not save us (…) It is time, we feel ready as a revenge team, we are faithful and determined. Our martyred comrades have led us, and we, as their successors, will strike the enemy in the heart so that they will be stunned and bewildered. This is our claim and belief. When we reach where we aim, the enemy will never forget us.”
Erdal Şahin, another self-sacrificial guerrilla who took part in the action in Ankara, states that they will act according to whatever their duty is. Şahin said: “For us, this action is an act of victory. We treat it in this way. It bears a lot of responsibility, so the result will be great.”
The film, which includes footage of the self-sacrificial action in Ankara, then continues with footage of the historic revolutionary operation against the invaders in the Western Zap region. In the action in November, 49 invaders were killed, 21 military tents and 12 military positions were destroyed.
The third action was a revolutionary operation in the Metîna region in memory of the martyr Leyla Sorxwîn Amed. In the action on 26 November, 18 invaders were killed and 6 were wounded on the Çarçel hill.
The film also features effective actions of the guerrillas in the latest period, such as the drone attack on Turkish soldiers in Girê Amediyê by the Şehîd Delal Amed Air Defence Forces towards the end of 2023and the revolutionary operation carried out in memory of Şehîd Ahmed Rûbar in the Xakurkê region, where 27 invaders were killed.
In the film, downed Turkish armed drones, military bases hit despite incessant bombardments, guerrilla raids and fierce clashes are depicted with extraordinary clarity. The dialogues of the guerrillas during the moments of war, their calls upon the invaders and their infiltration into enemy bases under harsh natural conditions offer a powerful visual narrative.
These actions demonstrate the guerrillas’ strategic planning and practice capabilities, revealing the intensity of the war and the guerrillas’ ability to sustain a historic resistance in harsh conditions, challenging and neutralising NATO-backed high technology. The film strikingly documents these moments in their true form.
