HPG Press Centre (HPG-BIM) reported that a Turkish military position was completely destroyed, and three Turkish soldiers were killed in an action organized by the guerrilla forces in the Metîna region.
In a written statement, the Press Centre of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) said that guerrillas carried out an action in the Metîna region as part of the “Cenga Xabur Revolutionary Campaign”.
Details of the action are as follows:
“On March 2, at 16:00, the Turkish troops in Girê Ortê area on the Qaşura line were shot by our YJA Star forces with heavy weapons. 3 Turkish soldiers were killed, 2 more injured and the targeted position was completely destroyed.”
The statement also gave information on the continuing Turkish attacks against the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
“– On February 23, at 14:00, the Girê Hakkarî area in the Metîna region was bombed 3 times, and on February 24, the Kunîşka, Kela Bedewê, Karker and Sîda areas in the Zap region were bombed 9 times by Turkish fighter jets.
– On February 25, at 14:00, the Golka area in the Metîna region and the Çemço area in the Zap region were bombed 4 times by Turkish fighter jets.
– On February 26, the Girê Martyr Şerîf in the Xakurkê region, the Serê Metîna in the Metîna region and Şkefta Birîndara in the Zap region were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.
– On February 27, the Girê Ortê in the Metîna region was bombed twice, and the Saca area in the Zap region was bombed once by Turkish fighter jets.
– On February 28, the Deriyê Hirçê in Garê region was bombed twice and the Girê Ortê in the Metîna region was bombed 3 times by Turkish fighter jets.
– On March 1 and 2, the Çemço and Kunîşka areas in the Zap region were bombed 4 times by Turkish fighter jets.
– On March 2, between 16:20 – 18:00, the Werxelê area in Avaşîn region was bombed 3 times by Turkish fighter jets and with heavy weapons.”
