The Network of Solidarity with the Kurdistan Women’s Movement in 5 states of Mexico made a statement regarding the ongoing invasion attacks against Rojava by the Turkish state and allied mercenaries.
“We support the call of the comrades in the Kurdistan Women’s Movement to protect and defend the women’s revolution in Rojava, which gives hope to the world. We salute the Autonomous System of North and East Syria, which is an achievement of humanity in the sacred Mesopotamian lands of the Middle East. In this liberated region, different peoples and cultures have achieved the model of peaceful, free, coexistence in cities, villages and rural areas with the understanding of a co-operative communal economy with the equal participation of women and men in people’s assemblies. Rojava is a place where the whole people are politicised, where they reveal their intellectual potential by forming their academies and collectively realise their self-defence, where the dream turns into reality,” said the statement, which further included the following:
“We are aware of the dirty policies of both Western sovereign powers and powers such as the Russian-Chinese bloc towards that region, seeking to benefit from its energy resources and seize its territories, which are an important link between east and west, in partnership with states such as Iran, where the patriarchal system prevails. In order to eliminate the gains in those lands, they are attacking the Kurdish, Palestine and other peoples by carrying out massacres through ugly forces such as Turkey and Israel.
Today we call for an immediate end to the massacres against the Palestinian people and the Kurdish people. With the same feelings, we demand that the massacres against the Kurdish people and other peoples living in Rojava and North-East Syria stop as soon as possible.
We demand the freedom of a people that gives us great hope and an independent life free from the oppression of the patriarchal and capitalist system and the colonial powers.
North-East Syria was liberated from ISIS in 2015. Since 2018, it has been systematically bombed by the Turkish state. They have continuously attacked Rojava lands with gangster Islamist groups.
In particular, hospitals, schools, civilians’ living spaces and supply centres, power plants, wheat warehouses were attacked with the support of NATO leaders.
We want to draw attention to these attacks that put the Rojava revolution at risk. We want to draw attention to the danger posed to the peoples by the HTS regime, which is a great threat to the rising women’s struggle.”
