International Day of Action for Georges Abdallah

On November 15, the anti-terrorism court issued its decision to release Georges Abdallah on condition that he leave France and not return. The prosecutor’s office having appealed this decision (appeal suspending the release), the hearing of the Paris Court of Appeal was held on Thursday, December 19. The decision will be rendered on February 20, 2025.

In anticipation of this hearing, a call for a day of action on December 21 had been launched by the United Campaign for the Release of Georges Abdallah. This Saturday, a demonstration was held in Paris with more than 4000 people in the streets of the city. Actions also took place in various cities in France as well as in Belgium and Switzerland. A demonstration was also organized in Bordeaux and a mobilization was organized in Annecy.

But actions had begun to be organized in France since December 6 (the date on which Georges Abdallah should have been released). Militants organized actions in support of Palestine and Georges Abdallah in different cities in front of prefectures, and certain actionists handcuffed themselves to the gates of police prefectures.
