Zionist media reported on Monday a severe incident that resulted in fatalities and injuries among the occupation military in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza Strip.
The Zionist military confirmed the death of five of its soldiers and the injury of others following the collapse of a building hit by an anti-tank missile in Beit Hanoun.
The website Hadashot BeZman described the event as a “difficult incident” in Gaza, holding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government responsible.
The site noted that three soldiers remain trapped under the rubble of the targeted building in Beit Hanoun.
Zionist media said that the unit affected by the building collapse was from the Nahal Brigade. Meanwhile, a correspondent for Channel 14 stated that, due to the failure to manage operations in Beit Hanoun, there will be significant troop rotations in northern Gaza in the coming days.
The correspondent added that the 162nd Division is likely to operate in Beit Hanoun soon, replacing the Gaza Division, which failed in its mission. However, if a ceasefire agreement is reached, the plan will be canceled.
Hamas affiliated sources in Gaza reported that during the months of October and November and until the first half of December in 2024, the occupation was lured into a battle in Jabalia that lasted 100 days. The resistance factions in Beit Hanoun, led by the Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades, worked to collect the shells and rockets that th occupation fired that did not explode and redistributed them to the houses that were not destroyed in Beit Hanoun. The houses and streets were booby-trapped based on intelligence information and the resistance installed surveillance cameras in most of the city’s neighborhoods.
During the second half of December, the Al-Quds Brigades’ missile unit bombed Ashkelon, Ashdod, Sderot, the northern Gaza Strip, Jerusalem and the center in order to lure the occupation army into entering the town of Beit Hanoun after preparing ambushes, spreading landmines in the streets and booby-trapping the houses. The town was evacuated, most of its residents in the first days of the war, and this helped the resistance to work comfortably there.
Resistance engages with occupation forces in northern Gaza
Simultaneously, as Zionist media reported two security incidents in north Gaza in the past hours, fierce battles are ongoing in Beit Hanoun, Jabalia, and Beit Lahia between Palestinian Resistance fighters and Zionist forces.
The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, announced that, in coordination with the Martyr Omar al-Qassem Forces, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), they targeted a supply line at the Netzarim axis along the buffer zone south of Gaza City with a barrage of mortar shells.
Additionally, the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades stated that, in commemoration of the martyrdom of its founder, Nidal al-Amoudi, they targeted a military command and control center at the Netzarim axis with a barrage of 107-type rockets.
Sinwar’s legacy continues
The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, said: After the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, his younger brother, Muhammad Sinwar, is now leading this movement in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas officials in Qatar decided to form a “collective leadership council” after Sinwar’s martyrdom, but members of the group in Gaza rejected this idea and are now operating under the leadership of Muhammad Sinwar.
Mohammed Sinwar is 50 years old and was recruited by Hamas at a young age. Unlike his brother, he was not an Israeli prisoner, which is why the regime’s security services do not know much about him.
Abu Obeida returns with a new message
The military spokesperson for Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, stated, “After over 100 days of mass destruction and genocide perpetrated by the enemy army in the northern Gaza Strip, our fighters continue to inflict heavy losses and deal significant blows, resulting in more than 10 deaths and dozens of injuries in the last 72 hours.”The military spokesperson further emphasized that the “losses within the ranks of the futile occupation army are far greater than what it admits, and the enemy will retreat from the northern Gaza Strip in disgrace, unable to break the Resistance.”
“The only achievement the ‘Israeli’ occupation army has made is destruction, devastation, and massacres against innocent people,” he added.
This comes as Palestinian Resistance factions continue to fiercely confront Zionistforces in northern and central Gaza on the 465th day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. Heavy confrontations and targeted attacks have been reported across various combat zones.
