An energetic protest was reported Thursday (10.03.2022) in the vicinity of the Argentine Parliament building when demonstrators protesting against the new agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) clashed with the Buenos Aires City Police.
The incidents included the throwing of stones by a group of demonstrators against the Congress building and against the police guarding the surroundings of the Parliament and a tire fire, at a time when the agreement with the IMF is being debated in the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies.
The protest had been called by leftist organizations and social movements to express their opposition to the new agreement with the IMF and the “adjustment” policies that the new program of extended facilities to refinance doubts with the Fund for some 45 billion dollars would entail.
