To all those who have come together today for the revolutionary May Day demonstration, Daniela sends warm and militant greetings from the women’s prison in Vechta. She was very pleased about the invitation of the Berlin alliance “Revolutionary 1st of May”. She is full of joy to be able to be part of this journey.
May 1 is an international day of struggle. In Berlin, it is a powerful expression of the diversity of anti-capitalist and internationalist struggle, in which the awareness is growing that real liberation can only be achieved by overcoming capitalism and patriarchy.
How Daniela would like to be at your side now, here and today, to carry this awareness into the streets of Berlin and the whole world and to experience the atmosphere of common strength and solidarity. For a world without any exploitation and oppression!
In letters and visits, she has noticed that many people feel the same way as she does, namely to get from one horror to the next, about so many abysmal things that are inherent in capitalism and against which we have and continue to oppose in different ways.
This is the genocide of the Palestinian population, which is ongoing with ever more brutal human rights violations, and its active support by the German government with arms deliveries to the right-wing extremist Israeli government and through the persecution of every Palestine solidarity activity.
These are the increasing militarization, war strengthening, the urge to fuel the war in Ukraine more and more with ever more far-reaching arms deliveries, thus risking or enabling the escalation to the point of direct war by Germany against Russia. It is hardly surprising, since the likely next Chancellor Merz was for years a lobbyist for the Blackrock company, which is one of the leading functionaries of Rheinmetall and has been the official coordinator of the “reconstruction” of Ukraine for three years. In other words, it organizes the profit from the war directly for the super-rich and the exploitation of Ukraine’s mineral resources in the future.
This is the dismantling of social welfare towards the impoverishment of society, to finance militarization; in addition, there is fascism, the desolidarization through the agitation against refugees and all those who are dependent on social support, brutalization, again fatal police shootings, this time against Lorenz, a young Black German in Oldenburg, the pushing back of the climate justice movement and queer feminist achievements, and the repression against all those who resist them.
Extremely thick walls are being built that already capture the mind. These will only be broken if protests and resistance movements make themselves heard against them.
Daniela is happy to receive visits and letters that tell of discussions and activities that counter the audacity of reactionary power.
She says: “There is so much knowledge on our side, ideas from people who do not submit to the capitalist hunt for profit. So many experiences of self-organizations in small and large contexts, from factory occupations, expropriation campaigns, to the self-administration of the Kurdish liberation movement. All these experiences should be included in the thoughts and attempts on the way to a liberated society, for a life in freedom with each other and in harmony with all living beings.”
Daniela says it is important to her to bring the protest against the genocide in Gaza and the West Bank to the streets together today. Stop the arms deliveries!
On May 1, she would like to send solidarity greetings. Solidarity among all the oppressed and exploited and all those in legality, illegality or in prisons, whose longing is a good life for all!
• After more than 40 years of captivity: Free Mumia Abu-Jamal!
• Solidarity greetings to those fighting against the unacceptable prison conditions in the Tegel prison, such as Andreas Krebs and his fellow prisoners!
• Solidarity greetings to N. and M. imprisoned in Bavarian prisons!
• Solidarity with the struggle of the Kurdish and Turkish political prisoners in Turkey!
• Freedom for Zaid and Maja and all Antifas!
• Solidarity greetings to Marianna, Dimitra and Dimitri in Greece and Alfredo Cospito in Italy!
• Freedom for all political prisoners in Germany and worldwide!
• Love and strength for Volker, Burkhard and all those in hiding!
“Not only for the prisoners, but for the whole of humanity, it is true: We can only be free if everyone is free!” (Burkhard Garweg)
With this in mind, Daniela wishes you a powerful, united and beautiful May 1st demo!
Solidarity greetings on May 1st to all of you from Daniela Klette.
