Protest Actions by Jinên Tîrêjên Rojê Initiative in Bursa, Mersin and Istanbul
In a written statement, the Jinên Tîrêjên Rojê (Women of the Sun) Initiative stated that the protest actions took place on November 8 and 9. The actions were listed as follows:
“On November 8, in the central neighborhood of Bursa’s İnegöl district, where fascists live in large numbers, our units organized actions against the vehicles and workplaces of fascists affiliated to the AKP-MHP regime. As a result of these actions, 8 luxury vehicles and 3 workplaces were set on fire and rendered unusable by our units.
Also on November 8, in the Tarsus district of Mersin, our units hit a vehicle belonging to the police of the fascist Turkish state patrolling at night with improvised explosives and fireworks from two directions. After the action, the police withdrew from the neighborhood in fear and panic.
On November 9, in Istanbul-Hadımköy, the white goods warehouse belonging to a fascist businessman known to be close to the AKP regime and 3 luxury vehicles belonging to the warehouse were set on fire by our units and reduced to ashes.”
Stating that these protest actions were organized against rights violations, torture and isolation in the prisons, the Initiative added the following:
“Seriously ill prisoners are not being released and the illness of these sick prisoners is increasing with each day that passes. We call out to the AKP-MHP regime; remove your dirty and bloody hands from the prisons and give up your fascist policies against the prisoners of war. As long as your policies continue, you and your relatives will not sleep well. We women are determined to destroy this fascist regime. In this regard, our units and young women will embrace the prisoners of the freedom struggle more strongly.”
