The revolutionaries accused of participating in the action targeting ICE at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, face extremely harsh conditions of detention at the Johnson County Jail where they are being held. Ten people are detained on the charge of having participated in the action, six others are accused of complicity. The indictments combine state and federal charges, including the attempted murder of federal agents and discharging a firearm in relation to a violent felony.
They have been in solitary confinement for weeks, and the prison has used “incomplete documents” to deny them access to lawyers, while they refuse to make any statement without the presence of their lawyers. They are deprived of showers, of visitors, forbidden to have anything to write on, sometimes placed in dungeons covered with excrement, their cell is the object of raids where everything is thrown pell-mell on the floor, clothing and food.
