On the 24th day of the trial, August 13, 2025, Daniela Klette read a statement, an excerpt of which we reproduce below (see in full here). At the same time, a rally was held near the court in support of the former RAF member who has lived in hiding for 30 years.
[…] Since my arrest, the police and prosecutor’s office have fuelled the myth that we are dangerous to society, unscrupulous and ready to kill, with false allegations, such as the alleged discovery of explosives in my apartment – which they have never denied, although no explosives were found.
By insinuating that we were particularly dangerous, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office has created a militarized judicial framework.
The aim here is to revive and reactivate the memories and negative images of previous trials against RAF activists. This was already evident enough in Celle and is further underlined here in Verden-Eitze by the Rambow-like transport and the heightened security measures.
Even if the court wants to present itself as apolitical, it is the political context that determines this trial: the hostile image of the RAF and the enormity of having escaped the grip of the state for more than 30 years constitute the framework. […]
