On the First Anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Heroic Fighter, Martyr Yahya Sinwar: Hamas

The spark of the Flood will not fade, and the blood of the martyred leaders reinforces the path of resistance for generations, and the covenant of steadfastness on their approach and loyalty to their sacrifices and journey until the liberation of the land and the holy sites.

A full year has passed since that heroic epic witnessed by the world, whose hero was the leader of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, the martyred leader Yahya Sinwar, when he concluded his life and struggle full of sacrifices, advancing and not retreating, standing firm in the heart of the battle, waving his stick, challenging the oppression and criminality of the occupation.

A year has passed since the martyrdom of the great national leader. Through the patience, steadfastness, and resilience of our people, and the strength and bravery of our resistance, a national achievement and agreement was reached that foiled all the occupation’s plans in its aggression against our land and people. This agreement stipulated a halt to the aggression, the war of genocide, starvation, displacement, and ethnic cleansing, and achieved a prisoner exchange deal titled ‘The Flood of the Free,’ through which 1,968 Palestinian prisoners breathed freedom and the arrogance of the zionist jailer was broken.

On the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the heroic fighter leader Yahya Sinwar, we recall with pride and honor his fragrant biography and blessed journey. He lived his life as a fighter since his youth, remaining steadfast and overcoming his jailers during 23 years of captivity, and continuing the path of preparation, building, and planning after his release from prison, until the dawn of October 7, 2023, which defeated the occupation, shook its current entity, and shattered the myth of its army, leading to his ascension as a martyr on the battlefield, engaged and fighting.

We affirm that the martyrdom of Brother Leader Yahya Sinwar, and before him all the leaders and symbols of the Movement who preceded him on the thorny path and the journey of struggle for liberation and return, will only increase the Movement, our people, and our resistance in strength, resilience, and determination to adhere to their methodology, proceed on their path, and remain loyal to their blood and sacrifices.

The spark of the Al-Aqsa Flood will remain lit, pulsating with the spirit of adherence to rights, constants, and national unity. Its flame will not fade in the souls of our great people, no matter the sacrifices, and no matter how great the strength and criminality of the occupation. We are committed to the covenant of the martyred leaders; the banner will not fall, and it will remain high and fluttering, carried and defended by all our people, until comprehensive liberation and the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

On the first anniversary of your martyrdom, Abu Ibrahim, rest assured. You fulfilled the trust and truly struggled to lower the enemy’s banner, break its might, humiliate its leaders, and shake the pillars of its alleged entity. Even if your pure body is absent from the land of Gaza, your spirit soaring in the sky fills the corners of the universe, affirming that the blood of the martyrs writes eternal glory for Palestine and the Nation. The enemy failed to achieve its aggressive goals on the land of glorious Gaza, and was forced to accept a ceasefire, and did not retrieve its prisoners except according to the will and conditions of the resistance.

Mercy, glory, and eternity to the soul of the heroic martyred leader Yahya Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim) and all the convoys of martyrs among the leaders and sons of our people and nation. We ask Almighty God to grant them the highest paradise alongside the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous—what excellent companions they are.
