Two soldiers of the Turkish occupation forces were killed in guerrilla attacks in Southern Kurdistan on Saturday. This was reported by the press centre of the People’s Defence Forces (HPG) in its daily overview of the war in Kurdistan on Sunday. According to the HPG statement, the invading troops in Çemço in the Zap region were struck by guerrillas with heavy weapons at 8.40 and 10.30 a.m., resulting in the death of the two soldiers.
In Çemço in Sheladize near the small town of Amadiya, which is ten kilometres from the Turkish border and administratively belongs to the Duhok governorate, the Turkish army also again used chemical weapons and an unconventional bomb against guerrilla positions on 31 December. In addition, the positions in Çemço as well as in Sîda and in the resistance area of Hekarî, also near Amadiya, were attacked dozens of times with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons on 29 and 31 December.
