The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) condemns in the strongest terms the brutal American imperialist aggression to which the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is being subjected, represented by airstrikes and missile bombardment targeting the capital, Caracas, and vital civilian installations, military bases, and residential complexes.
The Front considers this aggression a new chapter of organized American terrorism against sovereign states. The Front expresses its complete and unlimited solidarity with Venezuela, its leadership, government, and people, headed by the struggling President Nicolás Maduro.
It stresses that Venezuela, which has always sided with the causes of the oppressed, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, is today paying the price for its principled stances that reject hegemony and colonialism. This American assault on Venezuela is, in essence and objectives, similar to the brutal Zionist aggression against our Palestinian people. The criminal is the same, and the colonial mentality that seeks to break the will of resistance is identical.
The American administration’s pretexts of “combating smuggling” or “protecting democracy” are nothing but a false cover for practicing imperialist piracy that explicitly aims to plunder the wealth of the Venezuelan people and confiscate their independent political decision. This bullying practiced by Washington in the Caribbean represents the organized and unrestrained state terrorism of a rogue state that violates all international covenants, norms, and human values.
We affirm the inherent and inalienable right of the Venezuelan people to resist by all means and to defend their existence and national sovereignty. We stress that the cohesion of the internal front is the optimal response to attempts at intimidation and airspace violations. We call on all free and progressive forces in Latin America and the world to formulate a unified international stance to confront this aggression, which threatens global stability and peace.
We affirm that the arrogance of imperialism will inevitably shatter against the awareness and courage of peoples dedicated to their freedom. We wam that the United States’ continuation of this military madness will ignite new hotbeds of conflict in the world. The aggression against Venezuela is an assault on every state that adheres to its independent national decision.
The Front reiterates its absolute confidence that Venezuela of “Bolívar, Chávez, and Maduro” will emerge from this ordeal stronger and more resilient, and that the forces of imperialism, no matter how much killing technology they possess, will remain incapable of achieving their colonial goals or breaking the will of the peoples.
