PFLP on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Eternal Land Day

O steadfast masses of our Palestinian people in the fields of confrontation and in the diaspora,
O our people in steadfast Gaza, struggling West Bank, and Jerusalem, the eternal capital,
O guardians of identity in the occupied interior, and pillars of steadfastness in the refugee camps,

And O free people of our Arab nation and all the free people of the world… The fiftieth anniversary of Palestinian Land Day is upon us; that pivotal milestone in the struggle, baptized with the blood of the martyrs of Arraba, Sakhnin, Kufr Kanna, Umm al-Fahm, the Triangle, and the Galilee in 1976, embodying the highest meanings of sacrifice in an ongoing existential struggle. This day affirms that the land is the essence of identity and the source of dignity, and that our people, stretching from the sea to the river, are an indivisible unity and an unbreakable will. Land Day marked the breaking point for projects of assimilation and Israelization, and cemented the truth of our people’s rootedness in their land and their adherence to their rights, despite all attempts at uprooting and fragmentation over five decades of continuous struggle. Masses of our people… Sons of our nation… Free people of the world,

This anniversary comes at an extremely dangerous stage, as the pace of comprehensive aggression against our people escalates, manifested in the ongoing war of extermination against the Gaza Strip in all its forms, where our people in Gaza are subjected to systematic aggression targeting their very existence, through ongoing violations, killing, destruction, starvation, and siege, as well as continued settlement expansion, creeping annexation, and settler crimes, through policies aimed at imposing new realities on the ground in the West Bank and Jerusalem, deepening the annexation project and undermining any possibility of establishing an independent national entity. This coincides with a comprehensive aggression targeting Lebanon, and an American-Zionist war against Iran, as part of plans aimed at reshaping the region to achieve what is called “Greater Israel.”

We, in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, as we remember the martyrs of the eternal Land Day and all the martyrs of our people, affirm the following:

1. The unity of land, people, and national identity is the solid foundation of our steadfastness, and the rock upon which all projects of division and fragmentation are shattered; and the land will remain the central arena of confrontation, and the symbol of existence that does not accept compromise over a single grain of its soil.

2. Resistance is a strategic choice, as experience has proven that resistance, in all its forms, is the legitimate path to reclaiming rights and foiling liquidation schemes targeting our people and our region. 3. The grave violations suffered by prisoners are crimes that require international accountability, and we affirm that their freedom is a national priority that cannot be compromised. We also consider the “Prisoner Execution Law” a war crime that necessitates immediate internationalization of the issue, and we warn against harming the prisoners and the consequences of implementing this law, demanding that the leaders of the occupation be held accountable before the International Criminal Court. 4. Jerusalem will remain the great compass of struggle, and the continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and aggression against its sanctities is “playing with fire” and a fascist escalation for which the occupation bears full responsibility.

We call upon our nation and the free people of the world to support our people in Jerusalem materially and on the ground, and to curb this Zionist terrorism targeting the identity of the city and its Arab presence. 5. We renew our full solidarity with Lebanon and Iran in the face of the brutal “Zio-American” aggression, and we salute their heroic steadfastness in exhausting the enemy and thwarting its expansionist plans. We also condemn all crimes, sieges, and American piracy targeting Cuba and Venezuela. The duty of the free people of the world today is to escalate field and political pressure to support the global resistance fronts in the joint trench of confrontation against imperialist and colonial Zionist terrorism across continents. Masses of our people,

In light of the escalating Zionist crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, the ongoing violations of the occupation, and international proposals that align with the occupation’s plans and aim to undermine our national constants, such as the Mladenov Plan and others, the Front affirms that our urgent national priorities, which are non-negotiable, are as follows:

1. The immediate entry of the administrative committee into the Gaza Strip to provide for the needs of the people (food, water, shelter), restore the infrastructure of hospitals and electricity, and work to open the Rafah crossing permanently and smoothly without occupation restrictions, to avoid perpetuating the siege.

2. The immediate dismantling of criminal gangs and the cessation of their armament, to enable the police force to carry out its duties in maintaining social security.

3. We categorically reject any measures that entrench the geographic separation between Gaza and the West Bank. Our goal is one government, one law, and one educational and judicial system uniting Gaza and the West Bank, shattering the illusions of war criminal “Netanyahu” in isolating Gaza. 4. We call on the President to complete the comprehensive national dialogue, to be crowned by an urgent meeting of the secretaries-general to formulate a national strategy to confront the occupation and its criminal policies, and for the leadership to assume its historic responsibility in making decisions that protect the people.
