Tuesday, March 24th several raids took place simultaneously in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Kyritz (Brandenburg). Between 5.45 a.m. and 6 a.m. cops entered many private flats as well as the Anarchist Library Kalabl!k in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Infoladen Scherer8 in Berlin-Wedding and the Späti L5 in Berlin-Neukölln. Cops also searched cars and bikes.
The warrants allege that a criminal organisation of at least four people formed in 2025, to supposedly commit unconstitutional sabotage (verfassungsfeindliche Sabotage), i.e. the arson of a pylon at 9.9.25 which led to an energy-blackout in the technology-park in Adlershof. The warrants were issued on a range of dates, from end of last year to one week ago. The raids were done to four accused, some of their family members and to “witnesses” (Zeugen), in Hamburg and Düsseldorf family members where raided. The warrants neither explain why these four people are accused nor what their alleged connection is.
Exaggerated destruction was a standard procedure, breaking front doors, locks, windows. The cops took clothes, electronical devices and routers, as well as anything handwritten and publications. They were looking specifically for eco, anti-tech, antimilitarist and internationalist materials. In most of the cases dogs for detecting hard drives were used (Datenträgerspürhund).
Something remarkable in the Berlin context is that the cops took phones, computers and harddrives of family members.
After the raids were finished, the accused were abducted to the policestation (“GESA”), they were submitted to an “ED Behandlung” (pictures, fingerprints, etc.), furthermore DNA was taken. Then all of them were confronted with a mantrailing dog, in a very shady procedure. Also one of the accused got severly beaten and choked in GESA after refusing to give fingerprints.
From 6 o’clock on media teams were present in many of the places where raids happened so they could make big news-stories and impressive photos (also the fascist newspage Nius was informed before by the cops and filmed how the cops broke in the anarchist library Kalabal!k). Journalists also published stupid fake news and copied it from each other, e.g. stating that the anarchist Manuel who was incarcarated last year in Munich for 7 month is also one of the accused people (which is bullshit). That’s is why is important to carefully avoid spreading media lies or other gossip.
What happened yesterday makes clear, that in raiding as many places as possible the cops want to create pressure, exploring social relationships and collect data. Commenting on the proceedings, the head of the cop “union” GdP, went back to the very origins of todays german policing, paraphrazing Goebbels when he called the radical left a “cancer nurturing on german society” (“linksextreminsmus ist ein demokratiegefährdendes Krebsgeschwür, dass sich durch die Gesellschaft frisst (…)”).
The raids were a tough blow to the affected people and their surroundings, but thanks to the incredible solidarity displayed by so many, our ideas remain well in place.
We are convinced that to show solidarity means to continue the struggle!
And as always, Anna and Arthur keep their mouths shut.
Long live Anarchy!
More about the Events in Scherer8:
Statement on the police raid on Infoladen and Scherer 8 house,24.03.2026
At 6 AM this morning, cops started destroying the ground floor of the house project Scherer 8 in Berlin-Wedding. Somehow, they failed already on the old doors of Infoladen and Bar, so they smashed a vitrine down on the way into the house covering Infoladen in glass.
Many things got destroyed at Infoladen from plants to toilets, as if someone were let loose to show off how random state violence is. Since cops found nothing, they got angrier and threw all the info materials and books on the ground. (It is the books which were supposed to leave a footprint on people but for some people it is the other way around these days.)
Thereby, the state makes it more difficult to correct its mistakes also. The police took away the Rote Hilfe personal files of the politically prosecuted as well as the computer of BASTA who consult the people of the neighbourhood who have lost their jobs. The consultations have now been hampered significantly. Some books for the new Infoladen library are missing too.
The house was searched entirely with many computers and devices taken away for further investigation. Most of the doors on the ground flour are not usable anymore.
The house search was ordered in relation to people who never lived in the house. The fact that police simultaneously raided so many other places without a warrant to arrest anyone showcases how little their activity has to do with searching for evidence and how much more with frightening activists and neighbours and causing them financial problems taking away their laptops, computers, phones and destroying their living spaces.
One example of randomness is how they confiscated a newspaper called „Tanz auf dem Vulkan“ written by Wedding artists about the local square Martha-Ndumbe-Platz, where „Vulkan“ merely symbolises a sculpture in the middle of the square. Needless to say, some curious investigator brain obsessed with getting into Berlin house projects apparently associated it with Volcano groups and the arsons in Berlin South of the last months.
The state claims to keep searching for any clue to connect anarchist communities and individuals with infrastructure sabotage but actually uses it as an excuse to repress everyone on the way. How the police spokeperson stated, ‚they hope‘ something would be found, but has no idea what exactly. The idea seems basically to collect and connect all the info letting their repression algorithms to invent future investigations.
Thanks to everyone who supported at the spontaneous gathering this morning! We are left now cleaning up the mess and will be happy for donations to cover the repairing costs. The doors have to be changed and a new vitrine has been already ordered. Overall, the costs run up to a 4-digit number. Come by on Saturday at 1 PM for the next event to support living alternatives to capitalism in the city!
We are staying in solidarity with our comrades at the anarchist library Kalabalık in Kreuzberg, L5 Späti in Neukölln and everyone touched by the raids. Together, we are strong!
