India: Maoist Guerrillas Shoot Police Informer

On November 23rd, Maoist guerrillas fatally shot the mayor of Totoda village in Gadcholori district of Maharashtra state.

The guerrillas entered the village during the night, entered Lalsu Vedada’s house and shot him.

They left behind a document denouncing the mayor’s activities as an informer.

The Maoist insurgency continues in India unabated even as the political system continues to shift in a reactionary direction.
