105 years ago, the communist leader Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg were murdered. This Sunday, thousands of people commemorated this event in Berlin. Pro-Palestinian slogans, like “Viva Palästina”, were chanted several times during the procession, while people were parading along the Karl-Marx-Allee in Friedrichshain.
The police intervened violently when the procession reached the Frankfurter Allee because the demonstrators chanted “punishable slogans” for the release of Palestine. The police used gas against the demonstrators who resisted. Four police officers were hospitalized and sixteen demonstrators were arrested.
