With burning tires in front of the US consulate in Zurich yesterday (25.1.2024), we sent a fiery greeting to the struggling peoples from Palestine to Kurdistan and made it clear to US imperialism that we do not offer it a quiet hinterland. Resistance to imperialism is as old as imperialism itself. Cuba, Vietnam, the Philippines and today it supports the wars in Gaza, the West Bank and Rojava.
But imperialism is not alone, its economic and military connections show who is on its side. The opening of airspace by the USA over Rojava makes the bombing by the fascist Turkish state possible in the first place, deliveries of military equipment to the Israeli military are driving the genocide of the Palestinians further forward and the bombing of Yemen shows that US imperialism is solely concerned with the interests of Western capital – regardless of the price. Zionism, fascism and imperialism do not have to contradict each other, but can also go hand in hand, as can currently be observed. Erdogan can continue to pose as the protector of the Palestinians for a long time to come, but the recently concluded arms deals with Israel teach us otherwise. They may bark at each other in public, but in the background they shake their dirty hands. Summits like the one that took place last week here in the Swiss mountains at the World Economic Forum are particularly suitable for this coordination of the ruling classes. Again and again they try to break the resistance.
But their bombs, drones and guns are failing in the face of resistance. In the mountains of Kurdistan, the guerrillas are not only able to hold their own against the highly technologized Turkish army, but are also able to inflict heavy military blows on it time and again. The continuous adaptation to the opponent and to the external circumstances enables the guerrillas to achieve successes such as those observed in recent weeks, e.g. that the Turkish fascist army has been pushed back from various mountain peaks in the Zap region.
In view of the genocide of the Palestinians, the bombs on the Kurdish people and the imperialism that supports and is responsible for all of this, this means that we must also attack it here. The enemy is to be found in our country, the fire of resistance there must also spread here, imperialism cannot be granted a quiet hinterland.
