AKP-MHP fascism suffered a heavy blow in the March 31 local elections. Fascism was defeated against the will of the people, despite using all kinds of state means. Especially in Kurdistan, the people’s choice of the Dem Party and the recapture of the municipalities usurped by trustees created a great shock for the fascist power.
In the post-election speech of the fascist Erdogan, the threats of invasion against Bashur Kurdistan and Rojava are strongly felt. In this respect, the practice of seizing the elected municipalities of the people is not independent from this dirty war mentality. A total war policy is being implemented by fascism against the Kurdish people and the municipalities are threatened with seizure, which is within the scope of the war concept.
Today, everyone who calls themselves revolutionary, democratic and in favor of freedom must stand by the rightful will of the people of Van who resist this usurpation attack of fascism. The people of Van have declared their will by winning the municipality with a large vote difference. As the United Revolutionary Movement of Peoples, we will not leave this will unattended. The honorable resistance and declaration of will of the people of Kurdistan, especially the people of Van, are not alone.
Today is the day to take sides with the revolutionary will of the people of Kurdistan and hold fascism to account. On this basis, we must increase the resistance in all areas where we are against the occupying fascism and take sides with the just resistance of the people of Kurdistan. We must hold fascism to account with the power of our revolutionary actions.
During the elections in Kurdistan, transported voters, mostly soldiers and policemen, directly affected the election results in many provinces and districts. When fascism lost the elections against the will of the people, which it tried to usurp with all kinds of tricks, it chose to directly seize the will of the people.
Van came to the forefront in the March 31 elections with the Dem Party winning in all its districts. Unable to digest this situation, the AKP-MHP government gave the second-ranked AKP candidate the mazbat that should have been given to Abdullah Zeydan, the mayor of Van, who was elected by the will of the people of Van. This development clearly demonstrates that the AKP-MHP government is applying the colonial occupation law in Kurdistan.
At the same time, the decision to renew the elections in Hilvan and the denial of the mazbat to the Dem Party candidate elected in Hakkari is proof that fascism is trying to usurp the will of the people in Kurdistan as a concept.
The only language fascism understands will be the language of revolutionary action. On this basis, it is our historical responsibility to claim the will of all the people of Kurdistan, especially the people of Van, all over Turkey and Kurdistan without compressing the issue into a legal game. Despite all kinds of prohibitions and oppression of fascism, the revolutionary resistance of the people draws its strength from its historical rightness.
Our guerrillas in the mountains, our militias in the cities, our imprisoned comrades in prisons act with the awareness and determination of the tradition of resistance left to us. Resistances such as June 15-16, Kızıldere, Gezi, September 6-7 Kobani Serhildanı have shown that in our United Revolution history, the struggle is always on the street and won on the street. Today, we salute the resistance that the people have started on the street against these injustices and we reiterate once again that victory will be won on the street.
