The Haitian political class now behaves like subcontractors in the service of the great colonial powers. The current crisis in the country has made it clear that this class of men and women, parasites with no backbone who live at the expense of the Western powers despite being humiliated, alienated and exploited, are in a state of servitude and debasement.
Haiti’s glorious history and heroic struggle for liberation from slavery and colonialism have never aroused any sense of revolt or dignity in these traditional politicians. They are proud of their subservience to the colonial powers against their country, without any prospect of resistance or even struggle.
Of course, it is these individuals from the political class who have willingly chosen to be hired as the new service canvassers within a Transitional Presidential Council. An entity that will be completely under Western control. Here we find the traditional catalog of Conzé’s sons who can’t say “no”, and can’t under any circumstances refuse to do their boss’s bidding. It should be noted that this aspect is of considerable strategic importance, in the context of reassuring Western interests and further accepting imperialist domination.
The aim of the Westerners is therefore clear: to impose and install their puppet against the will of the people, while at the same time carrying out a double manoeuvre: on the one hand, to sow discord and organize conspiracies in Haitian society; and on the other, to encourage the traditional political class to play the role of lackeys, straw men and women, political prostitutes ready to sell their servitude. Isn’t it a disgrace to have in our generation these useless, harmful products who, as soon as their personal affairs are resolved, have no concern for the community?
Since the defeat of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, whom the imperialist powers had not only imposed but resolutely supported, Haiti has been faced with two diametrically opposed projects. Two antagonistic political projects!
One is dictated by the dominant philosophy of the Western powers, which is intent on capturing a large current of collabos who have no problem submitting to the service of the capitalist system. This group tries to continue the neo-colonial struggle through the protagonists of the reunited political class gesticulating empty-handed, and in resigned, frightened and cynical indifference.
This anti-grassroots project is aimed solely at defending the privileges and ideals of the ruling classes, in order to resuscitate a dying system. In any case, this Western strategy has achieved all its objectives, insofar as it has succeeded in appointing an ineffable Presidential Transitional Council, whose aim is not to help the Haitian people, but rather to defend the interests and domination of imperialism.
All the country’s misfortunes are represented within this tiny group. They are nothing but mercenaries, maneuvering a dangerous one-upmanship with their eyes fixed on the presidency to ensure that nothing changes. They represent a serious handicap, as they prefer to focus on eliminating the symptoms rather than tackling the root causes of the evil that is plaguing and destroying the country.
The other project is that of the fighting masses, of the conscious action of the working masses with a certain class consciousness that is completely opposed to the aspirations of the subcontractors. This project is part of a struggle to regain sovereignty and transform society with a view to a better tomorrow for the Haitian people. A people who, through their determined struggle and heavy sacrifices, have never ceased to prove their fierce attachment to freedom and the right to self-determination. They have never ceased to express their anger and indignation at the resurrection of the dark forces that oppressed them for so long.
This resistance of the masses is not only to fundamentally change the fate of the population, to try not only to get out of the grip of imperialism, but also to rid the country of all those who, in good faith or not, play the macabre game of imperial enterprise. This laboratory, which has spoiled the country’s economy for decades, has plundered and squandered the country’s resources to prevent the rightful owners, the Haitian people, from using their wealth.
Faced with the abyss into which imperialism and its local collaborators are plunging the country, nothing is yet certain. The days ahead will be decisive. For the people must continue their struggle and not allow themselves to be fooled by vain illusions of change on the part of these subcontracted politicians. Only the popular masses can open up new perspectives and take new steps to combat the reactionary and imperialist forces at work to build a strong and dignified Haitian state.
The only way to achieve this is through resistance and struggle, and this must be clear: Haiti must cease to be a colony and become a sovereign country once again!
