Belgium/Brussels: Surveillance Against Revolutionary Militants

In an article published today (August 20, 2024) and based largely on police sources, it is learned that some 50 people affiliated with the revolutionary left are the subject of surveillance by police services in the Zone Midi (SaintGilles, Anderlecht, Forest).

A number that has doubled compared to the last five years. Moreover, of the people on the list of the OCAM (Coordinating Body for the Analysis of the Threat) and with revolutionary left views, almost all live in SaintGilles.

Their exact number is not disclosed, but it is about fifteen people in total, i.e. 2% of the 650 people on this list. This figure would not have increased significantly in recent years.

Finally, training will be organized in autumn 2024, to help the forces of the Southern Zone understand and react to the spread of the extreme left in Brussels.
