The announcement of the ceasefire comes after more than 15 months of a brutal war of extermination waged by the occupation against the Gaza Strip. This ceasefire reflects the steadfastness of Gaza, its people, and their deep-rooted connection to the land, despite relentless bombing, siege, destruction, starvation, and unimaginable hardships. This unyielding will, indomitable spirit, and deep faith in the sanctity of the homeland have served as a shield to protect Palestine, its people, and its cause from extermination and annihilation.
Gaza’s legendary resilience, despite the siege, bombing, destruction, bloodshed, and the loss of tens of thousands of martyrs, coupled with the bravery and courage of the resistance, has made Gaza a global symbol of the will of the people and their struggle. This small besieged strip, vast in heroism and sacrifices, has stood firm in defense of Palestine and the Arab nation, halting the expansion of Zionist aggression and its broader war across the region.
Gaza has proven itself a bastion of Palestinian national resilience, shattering all criminal plans of the occupation to erase our people’s presence or uproot and displace them. The people of Gaza thwarted the international guardianship scheme that the occupation sought to impose as part of its war objectives. The enemy failed to recover its captives, which it used as a pretext to justify its brutal aggression, despite committing countless massacres and crimes.
The resistance success in maintaining the will to fight and inflicting daily losses on the occupation, despite the ferocity of the aggression, would not have been possible without the immense sacrifices and steadfastness of our people, who gave their all. The support fronts in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran also played a significant role in depleting the enemy’s resources, making great sacrifices at all levels—leaders, fighters, people, and resources—to halt the aggression against Gaza.
The Popular Front holds the U.S. administration, led by war criminal Biden, directly responsible for this war, as a political and military partner in the genocide against our people through its funding and international support for the occupation. Additionally, the international silence and the complicity of some regional powers provided the enemy with the cover to continue its crimes unchecked.
Human rights and international institutions, which have shown failure and incapacity in exposing the crimes of genocide or holding war criminals accountable, are called upon to reconsider their role and their ethical and humanitarian stance. The crime of the century—Gaza’s genocide—would not have persisted without significant international complicity.
We value the voices of conscience that stood with our people and condemned this aggression. We deeply appreciate the efforts made to stop the genocide, particularly by our Arab brethren. We call for increased solidarity and support for the Palestinian people, their just cause, and their rightful struggle.
The Front calls for genuine national unity and the rejection of divisions to bolster Gaza’s resilience and provide all necessary means for reconstruction and the alleviation of our people’s suffering. This is essential in the battle to defend the entirety of the Palestinian national existence and our people’s rights and just cause.
Today, while the aggression may have temporarily halted, it has not ended. It continues in various forms, targeting the completion of plans for extermination, displacement, and settlement expansion in the West Bank as a prelude to annexation. These actions threaten the Palestinian presence on every inch of our occupied land and the region as a whole. Ensuring the means for heroic resilience is a collective responsibility.
Everyone bears a significant duty to work diligently to alleviate Gaza’s suffering and ensure its resistance continues until the aggression is defeated, and our rights are reclaimed.
Finally, we salute our heroic martyrs, who have paved the path to freedom with their blood, our valiant prisoners who embody the spirit of defiance behind bars, and the masses of our people at home and in the diaspora, particularly the brave and escalating resistance in the occupied West Bank.
