A detachment of the 37th Infantry Battalion of the state army was conducting an anti-guerrilla operation when it engaged a group of the New People’s Army guerrillas, killing one of its members in combat, at around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 7th.
The attack occurred in the village of Sangay, in the province of Sultan Kudarat.
A few minutes later, another guerrilla fighter was killed in the same village. The soldiers recovered an M-16 Armalite rifle and four magazines from the fallen revolutionary fighters.
