Communique on Recent Actions – FGUN

In response to the counterinsurgency plan to exterminate the ELN and in the framework of the commemoration of the sowing of Commanders in Chief Camilo Torres Restrepo, February 15, 1966 and Manuel Pérez Martínez, on February 14, 1998, and in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the National Urban War Front Commander in Chief Camilo Torres Restrepo, We hereby inform the public of this war report developed in the cities and metropolitan areas of Colombia:

Popayán – Urban Guerrilla Front 4 de Julio:

February 14. Armed propaganda action, activating 2 pamphleteers, one of them in the La Loma de la Virgen neighborhood at 8:00 a.m. and another in the María Oriente cra. 1 between 17th streets.

February 15 and 16. In coordination with the Southwestern War Front, our units:

installed the ELN flag on the Pan-American Highway between the municipality of Rosas and Popayán. They carry out armed checkpoints, distribute propaganda, install ELN flags and controlled explosive charges.

Cali – Omaira Montoya Henao Urban Guerrilla Front:

February 14. Propaganda action with pamphleteering, in the Maracaibo neighborhood, on 27th Street of the 11th commune at 6:45 am.

February 14. Propaganda action with pamphleteering, in the peasant market of the El Diamante neighborhood at 10:00 am. Our units are withdrawn without incident.

Medellín – Luis Fernando Giraldo Builes Urban Guerrilla Front:

February 14. Installation of the ELN flag, on the Northern Highway that connects the Aburrá Valley, between the municipalities of Copacabana and Girardota.

February 14. Installation of the ELN flag, in the Moravia neighborhood, on Regional Avenue.

Bogotá – Jorge Eliecer Gaitán Urban Guerrilla Front:

February 14. Installation of the ELN flag, in the former headquarters of Bavaria, on Av. Boyacá, between 8th Street and Americas Avenue.

Cúcuta and metropolitan area – Carlos German Velasco Villamizar Urban Guerrilla Front and Reynaldo Ardila Gómez Urban Guerrilla Front, in coordination with the Northeastern War Front:

February 14. An ELN flag was installed next to a controlled explosive charge, in the Puente Amarillo sector in the Patillales village. This action temporarily affected mobility.

February 14. A MECUC patrol car was decommissioned, through the sniper modality, at the police station of La Floresta, rural area of Cúcuta, our units are withdrawn without any news.

February 15. Installation of flags with controlled explosive charges in the sectors of the township of Urimaco and the Zulia-Tibú road (Pedregales).

February 19. Activation of a car bomb at the toll booth at the stop, destroying the infrastructure in its entirety and eliminating the permanent extortion that they maintained over the population.

February 19. Demolition of the CAI of the Historic Temple, in the form of an assault with an explosive charge.

February 19. Attack with explosive charges on the infrastructure under construction of the third district of the metropolitan police of Cúcuta. Avoiding the prompt installation of a new center of corruption and banditry.

February 20. At 5:30 am, urban operations units through the activation of directed and controlled explosive charges, affected the facilities of the CAI San Rafael and the Deputy Intendant of the same, seriously injured.
