Daniela’s trial before the Verden Regional Court focuses primarily on 13 armed attacks, including against cash-in-transit drivers. On July 10, the court dropped the charge of attempted murder against the cash-in-transit drivers. Initially, the trial was held in Celle, in the security room of the Higher Regional Court, for security reasons. Since the end of May, the trial has continued in the Eitze district of Verden, after a former riding school was converted into a high-security fortress for €3.6 million.
Two hearings took place on Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday, August 13. The proceedings focus on Daniela’s possible presence at each of the attacks, with witness hearings, etc. The next hearings are scheduled for August 19 and 20 before another two-week summer break.
A solidarity demonstration took place near the court. Other solidarity activities are planned, including a rally in front of the police station in Berlin-Kreuzberg on August 15 and in front of the Vechta prison on August 23. Five people are still banned from visiting Daniela. Two of them, Ariane and Susanne, activists in the solidarity movement, received new summonses from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in August, issued by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Karlsruh.
