To the Attack of the Wounded Beast, the People Respond with Sovereignty – ELN

It is an old, well-known and defeated war strategy, in which an invention is built and with it, enormous war plans are deployed.

The decline of American imperialism and its need to drag the entire world down is no secret either. To that end, they found and imposed Trump, a perfect fascist figure who emanates hatred and war. Since his arrival at the White House, he hasn’t stopped attempting wars and instigating conflict, once again under the false narrative of a “rules-based order”—their own, of course.

Another truth, only denied by the oligarchies in each country, is that the U.S. onslaught is against all of Latin America, even if it initiates and applies mainly to governments that are uncomfortable for it, for not surrendering to its policies, those that, on the contrary, seek their self-determination and choose multilateralism, contravening the Monroe Doctrine.

As expected, the offensive towards Latin America is growing. The reloaded resumption of old policies would come back to the charge, diplomatically, economically and militarily. The latter seems to have begun with the threat of ships, submarines and warplanes in the Caribbean Sea. A provocation that, very much in the style of Trump, it is not known what it may lead to, that is the first threat. The others are all known.

Degrade everything to make it seem necessary to remove

In the same way that it installed the false narrative of the fight against terrorism and the fight against drug trafficking, the U.S. government invents and disseminates around the world, degraded versions and ideas about governments and territories to justify its aggressions. Degrading and criminalizing any political actor that is uncomfortable and hostile to them. They did this in Syria and Libya, they also tried it in Afghanistan, with the support of a communicative domination that manipulates on a large scale.

Several days ago, the White House spokeswoman declared that the government is willing to use its military power to capture the main drug traffickers, including the Venezuelan government headed by President Nicolás Maduro. Degrading the State and seeking to justify an aggression against Venezuela.

In the same way, they try to degrade the insurgency and the peoples in resistance. They deny the existence of the conflict and try to degrade the ELN by trying to deny its political and rebellious character. Just like that, as the Colombian government is trying to do. Without any evidence or material facts, they include in their matrix of hatred and delegitimization an alleged alliance with Hezbollah, connecting their plan with the war and extermination that the US and its partners are carrying out in the Middle East.

The nickname “drug trafficking” has become the perfect excuse to delegitimize any people or nation that opposes the interests of their transnational extractive businesses. Meanwhile, the real drug traffickers continue to profit and expand quietly in complicity with representatives of the governments and their Military Forces. The same is true in the United States and Colombia.

This supposed war on drugs of the United States really aims to profit from drug trafficking, degrade the countries where there are crops for illicit use, corrupt their institutions and political forces, to control and dominate.

A plan for the region

This new chapter in the historic U.S. aggressions against Latin America is part of a plan against the entire region. In the same way that they created a lurid scenario in the Balkans, destroying Yugoslavia and generating the worst war in the ’90s. Just as they did in West Asia and have generated wars in entire regions. The same is what the decadent North American empire intends with Latin America, to devastate its natural resources.

The words of Laura Richardson, who as head of the Southern Command, had no scruples in stating that her objective in Latin America was water and mineral resources, still resonate. In this terminal phase, the empire uses war for the accumulation of capital. Trump intends to treat and turn us into his colonies. Again, the narrative is false, there is no aggression against a supposed risk factor, it is an aggression for the entire Our American homeland and the imperialist warmongering of the United States is the factor to be fought.

The people’s response

So far there are no responses from international organizations, confirming that they are of no use. It remains to be seen whether organizations such as CELAC, which have declared Latin America and the Caribbean a Zone of Peace, are capable of acting at the right time, that is, now. The empire will promote regional rupture, in the face of which it is coherent for this body to act and seek regional integration.

In the region, there are already polarizations driven by the empire itself; however, peoples must be united in the defense of their own designs. Our America has the opportunity to deal a mortal blow to the empire, refusing to repeat stories of interventions and interference, putting an end to the “backyard” thing.

National self-determination is a democratic demand, dignity and national sovereignty are rights that will be conquered with the mobilization and struggle of the majority of society, facing the retrograde vision of the plutocracy of the empire, which seeks to return us to the colonial state, for this reason, it is imperative to fight for the second and definitive independence.
