According to the HPG, the guerrillas struck the Turkish occupation forces in the southern Kurdish region of Xakurke with heavy weapons. The Turkish army continues to attack guerrilla positions in the Zap region.
The press centre of the People’s Defence Forces (HPG) reported in its daily overview of the war in the mountains of Kurdistan, that a mobile guerrilla unit struck the Turkish occupation forces in the Girê Şehîd Axîn resistance area in the Xakurke region with heavy weapons on Saturday.
According to the HPG statement, the Turkish army shelled guerrilla positions in Çemço and near the village of Sîda in the Zap region with heavy weapons dozens of times on 7 January. Çemço and Sîda are located in the Sheladize district near the town of Amadiya and administratively belong to the Duhok governorate.
