The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) confirms that the world today faces a moral and historical test with the martyrdom of a number of citizens and displaced persons due to the collapse of dilapidated walls that cracked as a result of zionist bombing and under the weight of wind and rain; this places the entire international community before its responsibilities toward the worst humanitarian disaster known in the modern era, whose chapters are worsening with the uprooting and flooding of a large number of displaced persons’ tents.
The zionist enemy is exploiting the state of international “habituation” to the ongoing disaster in Gaza to increase its brutality and criminality, using the siege and the prevention of the entry of shelter supplies (such as tents and caravans) as a tool of mass killing targeting civilians and displaced persons in displacement centers and camps that are dilapidated due to the acute shortage of infrastructure components.
We warn that the continuation of weather depressions in light of the fragility of the destroyed infrastructure and the destruction of sewage networks will lead to environmental and health disasters and the formation of floods that may claim more lives, especially in light of the lack of capacity for a comprehensive response due to the continued siege and the closure of crossings.
We demand that mediators, guarantors, and the international community intervene immediately and pressure the occupation to allow the entry of heavy equipment necessary to remove rubble and buildings at risk of collapse, and to urgently provide caravans, tents, and basic necessities to save thousands of families living in tents and shelter centers that lack the minimum requirements for human dignity.
Our people, who face the zionist machine of genocide with all steadfastness and firmness, will not forgive this world for its silence while it watches them die from the cold, under the rubble of cracked houses, and due to the unjust siege.
