DKP Prisoners and Supporters Began a Three-Day Hunger Strike: Türkiye

On Sunday January 4, prisoners who were members and/or sympathizers of the DKP (Revolutionary Communal Party) announced a three-day warning fast, simultaneously in Kocaeli, Tekirdağ and Marmara prisons, to assert their will against what they describe as a system of state torture. In particular, they denounce the “well” type prisons which are places where repression is carried out most brutally, with systematic violations of the rights of revolutionary political prisoners, in particular through isolation. The hunger strikers are demanding the immediate restitution of their fundamental rights, the improvement of living conditions in prison and the closure of all “well” type prisons.
