Anarchist activist Arturo Lugo was arrested in Guadalajara on January 8, 2026, by the Mexican state and transferred to the Altiplano high-security prison. His supporters denounce acts of torture and recall that he had already suffered violence and sexual assault in April 2020 during the evacuation of the FES Acatlán school (UNAM), where he was protesting against institutionalized sexual harassment. In response, a call has been launched for a month of “anti-authoritarian struggle” in all its forms to demand his immediate release.
