Germany: Political Prisoner Andreas Krebs on Hunger Strike

Since January 26, Andreas Krebs has been on a hunger strike after being transferred to solitary confinement unit A9 following a cell search during which drugs were allegedly discovered, which he claims were planted in his cell. He denounces a sharp deterioration in his prison conditions, including visits behind a glass partition, restrictions on telephone access, the removal of television, outings, his studies, and any other forms of sentence adjustment. He is demanding to be returned to his former unit and warns that, without swift action, he may also stop taking his vital medication.
