Five leading Kurdish parties in Iran—Partiya Demokratîk ya Kurdistanê-Îran-PDK-Î (Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan), Partiya Jiyana Azad ya Kurdistanê-PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan), Sazumanî Xebata Kurdistanê-Îran (Kurdistan Organization of Labor–Iran), Partiya Azadî ya Kurdistanê-PAK (Kurdistan Freedom Party), and Komeleya Zehmetkêşan ya Kurdistanê (Kurdistan Workers Association)—have announced the establishment of the Iranian Kurdistan Political Forces Alliance.
This alliance has announced public collusion with US and zionist imperial aggression against Iran, in the western quest to assert its regional dominance in its conflict with anti-colonial Resistance forces.
The statement was issued precisely when the entire world is bracing for the war, and lines are being drawn.
Interestingly, the PKK was just routed in Syria by the new HTS regime. The US, the PKK’s principal backer in the region, had also made clear that PKK political objectives were meaningless, and their role was purely as a compliant puppet force.
PKK leader Ocalan has also started the process of disarming and disbanding PKK’s armed forces in Iraq and Turkey, in a desire to join the reactionary Turkish political system, without any concessions being granted. Notably Ocalan called for the continuation of armed conflict in Iran; the only country allied to the Palestinian Resistance and combating US, zionist imperialism.
With the recent betrayal by the US, the Kurdish declaration appears particularly outlandish and craven. In the coming regional conflict it is not apparent PKK forces will fight alongside western imperialism with no disguise, even with the liklihood of gaining little to nothing from the arrangement.
