Tunisia: Prisoner Ghassan Boughdiri Begins Hunger Strike After 120 Days of Detention

Tunisian activist Ghassan Boughdiri announced the start of an indefinite hunger strike after more than four months of detention. He has been detained for 120 days without having been interviewed by the investigating judge and denounces unfounded accusations.

In a letter made public, he asserts that “Palestine rewrote its law at the cost of blood and fire” and that resistance in Gaza helped create “a global revolutionary climate for the spread of freedom.” He claims his right to be heard and to be able to defend himself against the accusations made against him.
