The Central Command of the National Liberation Army (ELN) denies the news that claims to have planned an attempt on the lives of Attorney General Francisco Barbosa, María Fernanda Cabal and General (R) Zapateiro in the course of the ceasefire in progress.
This news is part of the media strategy that aims to create confusion in the national and international opinion to undermine its credibility and generate doubts about the ELN, regarding compliance with the Bilateral, National and Temporary Ceasefire agreed with the National Government.
The indicated comrades are not currently engaged in intelligence work, therefore, such information lacks objectivity, nor will the ELN conduct intelligence work, as agreed, during the time of the ceasefire.
Any incident must be dealt with by the agreed Monitoring and Verification Mechanism, the instrument officially in charge of handling it.
