Israeli Aggression Signals the Death Throes of US Empire

On October 7th, Hamas guerrillas launched one of the most daring actions in the modern history of anti-colonial resistance, striking a decisive blow against the Israeli fascist regime. Since that action the Israeli state, in collusion with the United States, has engaged in some of the most heinous, barbaric actions of any modern state in recent memory.

In league with the Nazi siege of Leningrad, Netanyahu and the Biden regime, have publicly announced a clear policy of genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. They announced no food, water or electricity can enter the territory, while subjecting its population to the most barbaric bombing campaign – almost of exclusively of civilian targets – since the US destruction of Iraq. The regime bragged that they dropped over 6,000 bombs in one single week.

The Zionists have now killed over 2,200 Palestinians, wounded almost 9,000 and displaced over 400,000 people, while attempting to starve the two million residents of the camp.

We are, in effect, living through one of the most perilous and transformative times in world history. The American state has thoroughly discredited itself with this hypocritical, monstrous behavior.

Ukraine War

For the past two years the world has been subjected to lectures about “the rules based order,” “it is wrong and evil to invade your neighbor,” “civilized people don’t behave like the Russians,” etc. And in one week, the US made it abundantly clear, those arguments are not only without merit, they are just pure delusional smokescreens for its domestic audience to continue aiding US expansionist war aims.

All week the US supported, funded and encouraged an invasion, ethnic cleansing and even clear cut attempts at genocidal actions against an occupied people. The entirety of world, except for segments of the US and European left, and the elite classes, perfectly understood that the war in Ukraine was about the expansion of NATO and the Russian state trying to maintain its sphere of influence against the US. This is even more obvious today as its noble aims, clearly, cannot be the cause of its engagement in the European theater.

What is also remarkable is that the Russian government announced that the entirety of the Ukrainian front lines are, practically, collapsing. We now see the Russian state on an offensive of its own as the Ukrainian counter-offensive concludes with nothing significantly gained, and its military hollowed out. US National Security Council spokesman, John Kirby, recently announced, “on Ukraine funding, we’re coming near the end of the rope… we’ll keep that aid going as long as we can, but its not going to be indefinite.”

This means, effectively, that the Ukrainian state will likely have to negotiate immediately, or risk being pummeled into submission. The Russian state has just received, according to Washington, 1,000 containers worth of military equipment from North Korea as the two countries tie in their military strategies closer to prepare for the likely coming global conflict. The US won’t likely stop funding Ukraine imminently but the direction of the conflict is rather clear now.

Israeli Invasion of Gaza

The Israeli state, and American, arrogance are solely responsible for the conflict in Palestine today. Since the 1973 war, the US and Israel maintained a strictly rejectionist stance on any diplomatic negotiations for a political solution.

The two sides regularly pushed settlement expansion, colonial humiliation and settler violence onto the Palestinian people. With the collapse of the global left, after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Palestinians, just like many other struggles in the global south struggled to find its footing, and the Palestinian Authority eventually settled into becoming a neo-colonial stooge of US, Israeli imperialism. Oddly enough, as the Palestinian struggle fell out of international concern, even Hamas had approved of the 1967 borders, and the two state solution.

Due to Israeli American hubris there is now a full fledged revolt in the Middle East against the settler project. The Operation Al Aqsa flood has already done irreparable harm to the Israeli regime. No settlers will want to live anywhere in the vicinity of Gaza. The Israeli security states aura of invincibility is shattered beyond repair. And the only way, it seems, the state believes it can continue to populate the area is by massive ethnic cleansing.

This is where the Israeli state is walking into a trap.

It is obvious that Hamas has prepared for war, while the Israeli political system has been in internal crisis. The Israelis, in preparing a large scale ground invasion, are almost certainly walking into a protracted guerrilla war in a dense urban setting. There are very few situations where a military can succeed in such a situation. The battle for Raqqa and Mosul are two of the very few that were successful, but ISIS was such an unpopular force their collapse was not surprising. Hamas, on the other hand, has immense popular support and the Israelis are detested. They will likely go house to house, block to block, fighting every inch of the way.

This is a recipe for disaster.

The Resistance

Hamas, as stated before, likely has a wide ranging guerrilla strategy to defeat the Israeli regime in Gaza. The West Bank is in total revolt. It is also increasingly likely that the other forces will join the resistance in the region. Iran has reportedly warned the Israelis that if they invade Gaza there will be a war between the two sides.

Hezbollah, the guerrilla movement in Lebanon, has warned Israel that its essentially not if, but when, about their involvement in the war. The United States announced if Hezbollah intervenes the Americans will enter the war

Saudi Arabia, which was normalizing ties with Israel, has canceled these plans and has met with Iran to discuss the crisis.

In effect, the US political alliances in the region are crumbling. We are clearly witnessing the latest salvo in the collapse of the US world order. The US and Israel are committing to a war that may inflame the entire globe, and engulf the two states and their allies in a world war. And they have no real clear cut path to actually achieve anything politically other than mass slaughter.

While on the other hand, the Palestinian people have nothing to lose, everything to gain, their dignity intact and support from the vast majority of the worlds people. Except, as always the colonialist states and large segments of their populations.
