The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, represented by its Secretary-General, Deputy, Central Committee, Political Bureau, and all its cadres and members, mourns to the masses of our people the comrade and historic fighter, Ismail Musa Salem “Abu Basel” (88 years old), who was martyred on the morning of December 19, following a horrific massacre committed by the criminal zionist enemy warplanes in Gaza, which claimed the lives of more than 150 members of his family.
The martyrdom of the comrade and fighter “Abu Basel”, one of the first leaders, was distinguished by a rich revolutionary biography. He was a youth in the Arab Nationalist Movement and a founder in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. He served in the General Central Committee, handling military, organizational, and administrative tasks, and possessed a devoted revolutionary spirit that he dedicated to serving his front, people, and cause.
The Front bids farewell to its martyr, who chose to be among his people, leading the ranks, teaching them patience, resilience, and steadfastness. He was a living example in the school of limitless sacrifice and solid resistance, teaching generations the meaning of belonging to Palestine.
The Front extends its deepest condolences to his family, comrades, and friends, and pledges, as it does to all the heroic martyrs and our legendary people rooted in Gaza’s soil, to continue resisting until achieving our people’s goals of liberation, freedom, and establishing our democratic Palestinian state over the entire Palestinian national territory.
