The struggle of women who have been resisting against patriarchal capitalism, poverty and fascism for years is rising from different parts of the world this year as well. Women continue to weave resistance. From Palestine to Rojava, from Turkey to Iran and Poland, we are welcoming March 8 with the resistance of women who do not retreat from the streets, barricades and strikes against poverty, occupation, labor and body exploitation, the all-out attacks of patriarchal capitalism and fascist governments.
In this year, when the worst repercussions of crisis, war and exploitation are being experienced, the purple firebirds continue to hear each other’s voices from the fields of resistance and rebellions, to encourage each other, to meet and to hold each other accountable. As women, we have continued to organize and grow courage against labor exploitation and poverty, body exploitation and patriarchal control, male violence, which intensified with the severe economic crisis, through resistance.
We raised the purple flag from everywhere this year against those who tried to turn the earth we live on into a hell for us, against those who promised us nothing but plunder, lies, exploitation and profit, against the sovereigns who attacked all our living spaces, our rights and the gains we have made at great cost, against those who made our homes, streets, schools and dormitories unlivable for us. We resisted with the same belief in the squares in the cities, prisoners in prison, guerrillas in cells in the city, and positions in the mountains. Our banners, slogans and bullets became weapons of struggle.
Unable to find a way out in the face of women’s persistent resistance, patriarchal capitalism continues its misogynist politics by attacking women’s gains, labor, representation and resistance even harder. The voice raised by women in the squares and the power of resistance in feminist gatherings must have frightened the misogynist government so much that it tries to put a barrier in front of women’s resistance with new attempts to prevent it every year. The attempts to take back the legal gains respectively, the agenda of the regulations that will aggravate the exploitation of women’s labor and the increasing increase in male violence show that the AKP-MHP fascist government’s war against women will intensify. The government, which sees the dynamism of resistance created by the women’s struggle against the hegemony created by fascism as one of the main threats to its existence, aims to compress the women’s struggle to protect their rights. The targeting of women +, LGBTI + by the state itself continues in line with the society and family planning that AKP-MHP fascism wants to create.
Resisting against this siege, beyond trying to protect our existence and our gains, obliges us to step outside the circle against patriarchal capitalism, to be a deterrent, to always push one step beyond the areas where they try to squeeze us. It is necessary to attack without waiting for the attack, to start the offensive without being locked in protection, to bring the historicity that has always made the impossible happen since the Sufrejets, that stopped the retreat by taking to the streets for the first time after the 80s, back to life with the needs of today’s struggle. By recognizing the different demands and voices of women, it is necessary to crush and dismantle one by one all the obstacles and barricades that stand in the way of the liberation struggle created by that difference!
This is the open call of KKB/KÖG to all women whose voices are enough!
From those who ignore women, women+, from those who ignore women, women+, from those who covet women’s rights / our gains with legal obstacles, from those who release the perpetrators of women and especially women+ who are murdered in the streets,
From the bosses who work hard for cheap wages and enrich themselves,
One of those who remain silent on Palestine, where 15 people are killed every hour,
They are among those who turn their faces away from the massacre in Rojava, where bombs continue to fall every day, and from Kurdistan, every part of which is exploited,
One of those who not only destroyed houses and cities in the earthquake, but also left people under the rubble, leaving the survivors hungry, thirsty and helpless,
Those who try to make us forget those who were murdered in dormitories, those who were forced to commit suicide out of poverty,
Perpetrators and exonerators of male violence,
We will persistently continue to hold to account those who “whitewash/purify/release” the perpetrators of child abuse in community dormitories.
We will crush the nets and barricades that you try to surround our lives with in order to protect the boss on strike and to exonerate the perpetrators of violence in the courts for the benefit of men and the system!
In the face of male violence, we will hold to account those in power whose only action is to try to imprison women at home, to make divorce difficult, to protect the perpetrators, those who apply inhumane methods such as sexual assault and strip searches to prisoners in prison, detentions, misogynist Erdoğan and his partners, those who make women and LGBTI+s open targets with sexist/hetorosexist expressions.
We will continue to carry the voices of murdered women, Leyla Khalid, Sakine Cansız, Delal Amed, Ceren and Aynur to the fields. On March 8, we are on the streets, mountains and barricades again! We call on everyone our voice reaches to socialist feminist struggle against patriarchal capitalism, armed resistance, organization and action!
Long Live Our Armed Feminist Resistance! Jin Jiyan Azadi!
