Freedom is on the Street! On May 1st, Let’s Seize the Fields!

The world capitalist system is in the midst of a major economic and political crisis. The imperialist capitalist system is feeling the destructive effects of its own internal dynamics with all its intensity. The imperialist system, which produces exploitation and oppression for the poor peoples of the world and the working class, is destroying its own future by dragging the peoples of the world into the 3rd World War. We see it in the conjuncture of a world war. In this respect, the existence of the imperialist capitalist system threatens the future of the peoples of the world.

The US and the Western bloc‘s claim to ultimate dominance and sole omnipotence, which it had proclaimed since the early 1990s, is no longer as strongly defended as it once was. This is because the imperialist Western bloc, led by the US, is in a great loss of hegemony.

The special military operation launched by Russia in Ukraine has gradually turned into a conflict between NATO and Russia, with Russia gaining military superiority. The US and the EU, in particular, are using all means at their disposal to defeat Russia in Ukraine, and if not defeat, to wear it down.

As a strategic ally of US imperialism, the AKP-MHP alliance sees its future directly with NATO, the war organization of imperialism.

Considering the recent developments in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, the AKP-MHP government is seeking to prolong its political life within the struggle for hegemony on the world stage. The fascist regime, sometimes siding with the US and sometimes with Russia, is constantly wobbling in order to get out of the crisis and chaotic situation it is in.

Erdogan‘s government, which is essentially an ally of US imperialism, occasionally establishes relations with Russia on a pragmatic basis.

The Palestinian people‘s struggle for freedom and the Zionist regime‘s occupation policy have been discussed more intensively on the world agenda since October 7. The freedom struggle of the oppressed Palestinian people is being strangled by the massacres of the Zionist regime.

The capitalist system in Turkey is experiencing the same economic and political crisis that the world capitalist system is experiencing, but in a much more severe form. The working class and laborers feel the crisis very deeply in all areas of life. Poverty is increasing and life for the working class is getting harder and harder every day.

The AKP government, which suffered a major defeat in the recent local elections, has now suffered a serious loss of power. In order to minimize the impact of this loss of power, the government will seek to extend its political life by mobilizing all its means.

In order to prolong its fascist life, it will accelerate military operations against the Kurdish freedom movement. Especially the occupation policies in Southern Kurdistan will be accelerated and at the same time, new occupation areas will be tried to be created towards Rojava.

The working class of Turkey will be tried to be taken over more strongly with the usual rhetoric of homeland, nation and the poison of chauvinism.

Considering all the developments, May 1 will be an area where the government, weakened in the local elections, will express its aggressive policies more strongly.

Our call to the working class and laborers of Turkey; It is the seizure of the May Day sites, especially Taksim. The voice of the struggle for revolution and socialism must reach millions in the face of all the oppressive policies of the fascist regime.

AKP-MHP fascism is in great fear. The defeats against the freedom guerrillas in the mountains, the successful actions of the HBDH militia in the cities, the deepening economic crisis and the municipalities seized in Kurdistan after the elections, the people taking to the streets, defending their will and taking back the municipalities, making fascism take a step back, show us which road map we should follow in the process leading to May 1.

The only way out of the crisis fascism is to repress the people and prevent them from taking to the streets. As we mentioned above, the main source of fascism‘s fear stems from the presence of a movement that does not shut up and kneel before it.

March 8, Newroz, March 31 local elections show that there is a strong mass that will not kneel and bow down to AKP-MHP fascism. In this process, the importance of May 1, 2024 increases even more. It shows us that the fascist policies implemented by the AKP-MHP fascist government have not paid off. At the same time, it will be the concretization of the idea of the United Revolution, carried from Newroz to May Day.

The future of the working class and laborers cannot be left to the policies of the establishment parties, which are identical to each other. The detachment of the working class and the oppressed from the parties of order is an issue of critical importance for us.

The working class, which will overthrow fascism and establish the power of the proletariat, has played an active role in this process, has brought AKP-MHP fascism and the bosses to their knees with its strikes and continues to do so.

At the same time, the fascist government continues to oppress the women‘s liberation struggle with all kinds of obstacles and attacks. The organized struggle of women against the exploitation policies of the male-dominated capitalist system creates great fear in the ranks of the fascist power. In the face of the daily murders of women, it is of critical importance that the women‘s liberation struggle grows.

The youth organizes the struggle against all kinds of oppression and open terror of fascism in an organized way and takes its place as the direct executor of the struggle for freedom on the streets. The determination and organization of the youth in the revolutionary struggle gives us strength.

On May Day 1977, we march with the audacity of Jale Yeşilnil, who was murdered in Taksim, and with the determination of Muzaffer Kandemir, who stabbed the flag of internationalism into the heart of AKP-ISIS fascism.

May 1, 2024, it is our historical duty to embrace the day of unity, struggle and solidarity of the working class in the strongest way and to express our eternal commitment to the struggle for revolution and socialism in all areas we are in.
