Yezidi Security Forces Reconvene to Defend Their Community

Members of the Yezidi Security Forces in the defense forces of Sinjar stated that they would not accept any decisions against the will of the Yezidi community and said; “We have decided to resist.”

For the first time since the order of 3 August 2014, the Yazidi community had the power to defend itself and organize itself in the military. In addition to the YBŞ and YJŞ, the Yezidi Security Forces were established in 2016 to protect the interior. From the day the Yezidi Security was established until now, the PDK, the Turkish state and Iraq in particular have been involved in dirty efforts to destroy security.

The Iraqi army last attacked Yezidi security checkpoints on April 18. Fighting broke out in Dugur community, many meetings have taken place since that day, but Iraq, under pressure from the PDK and Turkey, wants to implement the 9 October agreement in Sinjar. Members of the Yezidi Security Forces in the Sinjar security forces spoke to our agency about the attacks on Sinjar.

Yezidi Security Council member Marwan Malo spoke at the beginning and stated that most of Sinjar is safe and continued; “We are interested in all the problems of the society, our people are also happy with it. Over the past 7 years we have faced many challenges and we have been able to give this confidence to our people. We will not accept the Turkish state, the PDK and Iraq in particular, if they make wrong decisions about our society. We know for ourselves what is necessary for our people and what harms their future. ”

Marwan said he would not accept alliances being made on them, as a reason also said; We, as a Yazidi community, have lost hundreds of martyrs in this case. We will walk on the path of our martyrs until the end.”

Another member of the Yezidi Security Forces, Izet Şengali, also spoke on the subject. Shingali said that he is taking the decision from his people, Iraq wants to annihilate the Yazidis and said; “Because the people have accepted us and we are the strength of the people, whatever happens, we will not give up on protecting our people. We will do everything we can to keep our community safe. “We have done a great job for our community, and even if Iraq does not see it, we will not accept it.”

Shingali recently drew attention to the order of 3 August 2014 and said; “During the command, no force came to protect us, we did not leave. The Yazidi community has been defending itself ever since. No one has the right to come out against us and destroy us. Because we are the children of this people, we are the people of Iraq, Iraq must thank us. We have decided to resist, we will fight to the end and stop all attacks on the will of our society. “
