Police Vehicle Burned by Community After Cops Kill Child in Barrancabermeja, Colombia

An uprising by the community of Barrancabermeja took place this Sunday, after a a child of approximately eight years of age was killed by police, who ran the child over with their vehicle.

The family denounced that what happened was due to a bad procedure by the police. So the community decided to burn the vehicle in response to the police killing.

Three police vehicles were vandalized and two police officers were injured in the uprising.

A police truck of the Santandereano district, which was speeding, ran over the child who was near the Santander Park, a place where his mother has a sales post.

After the community noticed the suffering of the parents, for the loss of the child, some people approached the Transit and Transportation station, where the patrol was transferred. There, they set fire to the vehicle, vandalizing the glass of two more that were in the place.
