Political Prisoner & Hunger Striker Hazal Seçer Attacked and Tortured in Thebes Prison, Greece

Political prisoner Hazal Seçer, a hunger striker, was beaten by the sergeant and other members of the Special Transfer Group in Thebes prison.

Comrade Hazal Seçer was attacked and tortured in Thebes prison. Hooded cops of the Special Transfer Group (EOM) and the sergeant beat her, and forced her to be taken to the hospital.

Hazal said she did not want to be taken to the hospital as her readings were stable and hence she would not go to the hospital. Then the sergeant and the EOM cops acting as government watchdogs tortured Hazal and took her to the hospital by force.

In the hospital of Thebes she was kept handcuffed behind her back for an hour and a half. They wanted to examine her with her hands handcuffed, Hazal refused, they tried threatening to put an IV drip in her. The comrade refused, saying “If you try to give me an IV, you will have to cut all my veins. I’m on hunger strike, I have dignity and I won’t accept it.” She was then taken back to prison.

We call on all to react to the torture. They torture in the women’s prison of Thebes in Greece, let us not be silent in the face of torture. The resistance of the hunger strike of political prisoners from Turkey in Greek prisons continues today for the 11th day.

Their resistance is the resistance of all of us, we call on everyone to support the 11 revolutionaries from Turkey who are imprisoned in Greece. Repression cannot deter us. Human dignity will defeat torture. Comrade Hazal Seçer is not alone!

Solidarity is our weapon!
