Mexico: The Narco-State that Today Spreads with Militarization, Responsible for Samir’s Death

Two days after the arrival of our brother Samir in our traditional Day of the Dead celebrations, we DENOUNCE the clear link of the narco-state in his assassination:
With the recent investigations of SEDENA released by the Guacamaya collective, the obvious can no longer be hidden, it is public and proven, it was the narco-state that murdered Samir, it only remains for this administration to punish itself and put itself in jail. Obviously it is not going to happen, just as it is not going to happen to punish the military who violate human rights with the tactical force they have when they take on civilian security tasks.

On January 4 of this year, El Sol de México published a photo of Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco with 3 leaders of organized crime in Morelos (https://cutt. ly/WBaDUMJ), Cuauhtémoc denied knowing that they were leaders of the main drug cartels in the state he governs, the next day, narcomantas apparently from the Jalisco Cartel New Generation appeared saying to the governor: “Don’t even think of ignoring the agreements shit… you respect me and I respect you otherwise I will release exact data of Samir’s death… Give my best regards to Hugo Erik” (https://cutt.ly/BBaDSeS). On June 2, 2020, Hugo Erik Flores, leader of the Social Encounter Party and President López Obrador’s right-hand man in the consultation on the thermoelectric plant in Huexca, was also accused of being a traitor in narcomantas by the CJNG, saying that they helped him to pacify Morelos and that he should not betray them by extorting Municipal Presidents who were with them (https://cutt. ly/nBaDHkU), apparently he was referring to Valentín Lavín, Municipal President of Temoac, who days later was reported to have been extorted by Hugo Erik Flores to vote in favor of his electoral law or else he already knew that he was within the investigations of Samir’s murder (https://cutt.ly/lBaDZuE).

Until that moment it could have been speculations, indications, but today the relations of the narco with government officials coincide with the documents revealed from the SEDENA by the Guacamaya collective, who according to Proceso Magazine, the intelligence group of the Secretary of the Navy indicated that “the first circle of Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo, of the Social Encounter Party (PES), have links with Los Rojos, Gente Nueva and the CJNG”. That Prosecutor Uriel Carmona Gándara, who has been in charge of the investigations into Samir’s murder and has made all the statements about the case, is linked to Los Rojos and that Valentín Lavín, president of the municipality where Amilcingo is located, is linked to the CJNG. The note concludes that according to reports “Temoac, the mayor is the son-in-law of kidnapper Antonio Aparicio. In 2018 they executed three women from his family, and he was threatened in blankets by the “Comando Tlahuica” (https://cutt.ly/PBaDV68).

And the question is, if SEDENA knows all that, why doesn’t it stop them? Because it is the entire structure of the State, from the right hand of the President in 2019 in Morelos, Hugo Erik Flores, through the governor and the municipal president, the 3 levels of government linked to the CJNG and responsible for the murder of Samir Why? Why? To put an end to the defense of territory and the construction of indigenous autonomy. These are the objectives of the narco-state, a capitalist state that has become a Machiavellian structure for sowing insecurity and terror.

And it is to this narco-state that we are going to entrust the deployment of the army for civilian security work? Something disapproved by millions during the six-year term of Peña Nieto and Calderón, but now applauded and with the complicit silence of many who sympathize with the President who says that “the army is the people”. But we must break the silence, open our eyes, our mouths and be critical. The times of so much crisis and insecurity demand it of us.

It is a narco-state that is going to deploy the military throughout the country, especially in the territories of indigenous peoples, as denounced by the Nahua peoples of Milpa Alta and Tepoztlán in the last CNI assembly held on September 24 in the Casa de los Pueblos Samir Flores Soberanes, where there is an intention to install a National Guard barracks for civilian security work, As well as the community of Ostula in Michoacán that denounces movements of the GN that favor the entry of organized crime in their region, while the government intends to disarm their community guard, the only way they have had to heroically keep crime on the margins of their territory. The same GN that on November 23, 2020 evicted the Apatlaco encampment to conclude the PIM.

We are experiencing a real militarization of the country when the army is engaged in construction work, civil security, transportation and intelligence work involving espionage and infiltration in protest actions, indigenous peoples defending their territory and exercising their autonomy, parents protesting against cuts in support for cancer drugs or day care centers, feminist collectives, anarchist groups, teachers’ unions, student unions and in general anyone seeking peace and social justice. This is demonstrated by another SEDENA document where it considers the CJNG as equally dangerous for the Felipe Angeles airport in 2020 as the fronts of peoples in defense of their territory that exist in the region, which are considered a greater threat to the interests of the army than the Guerreros Unidos cartel (https://cutt.ly/YBaD2fV). That is the real state… a narco-state.
Faced with this panorama of the extension of militarization by a narco-state, we cannot expect justice from the army. We cannot expect justice from this State, but from the people, and the people and the people do justice to Samir by remembering him, by continuing to fight, by living, but it is also necessary to know the truth, to name the murderers, to condemn them socially and that they receive the punishment they deserve.
We invite you to spread and denounce the truth about Samir’s murderers and to receive him in your homes this October 28th. In Amilcingo, the land where he was born and died, his offering will be set up from Thursday 27th and during the 28th, bring fruit, bread, skulls and whatever you would like to share with Samir.

No to militarization by the narco-state!
