Anarchist Action Does Not Bow to Bourgeois Justice – Message from Thanos Hatziangelou

The cruel and indecisive judges, the ones who in the majority of cases apply harsh sentences – often beyond the limits of human life – the ones who put people in prison for debts of a few thousand euros, those who make illegal and abusive any strike that goes out of the ordinary, those who throw thousands of families who have taken loans from the banks out of their homes, have not condemned ANY politician or executive of big business for plundering public wealth. They have not condemned ANY war criminals for facilitating NATO troops to participate in their criminal interventions in a number of other colonies around the globe. They have not convicted ANY shipowner for the countless environmental violations that poison our lives. They have NEVER condemned pharmaceutical company executives who bribe doctors and government officials to control the drug market, which translates into thousands of deaths of grassroots people. They have hardly condemned any low ranking police officials who murder in the streets, beat mercilessly at demonstrations and rape in police stations. They have not condemned ANY high ranking Greek police officer involved in human trafficking, drug trafficking and smuggling of fuel and cigarettes. They have not convicted ANY high level society rapists who use their financial power on the bodies of the weak by destroying their lives.

On April 4, the agents of bourgeois justice want to put Anarchist Action in the dock of state terrorism. On the same benches where the state and capitalist crime of Tempe* will be washed away, tyranny will once again face the fighting forces of revolutionary violence, subversion and social liberation.

The ambition of the institutionalized terror of the state and the bosses wants to assert the monopoly of legitimate and class-determined violence against the proletarian-legitimized anti-violence defended by Anarchist Action, serving the front of anti-authoritarian guerrilla warfare. It wants to slander and vilify persons and choices of militant resistance, to sow terror and fear through long-standing convictions to bend those who resist intransigently the decadence and impoverishment of this land, making an example of the struggling social base.

Tyranny constitutes the reactionary arc, seeking even silent repentance in the face of the fear of a life buried for years in the hellhole of democracy. A life of iron-barred, borrowed and measured breaths in the pervasive suffocation within the walls. Before it stands, untainted by degeneracy and apathy, the political responsibility to defend the truth against its death. The political responsibility to defend in practice every oath of commitment, loyalty, devotion and dedication to the prospect of revolutionary transformation through subversive struggle.

Anarchist Action once again looks its enemies in the face without a trace of remorse and capitulation because revolutionary dignity cannot be bought. It does not bow to its persecutors, it does not apologize to the executioners of freedom, it does not retreat and faint in the face of revolutionary tasks. It stands, with proud integrity, to honor to the end the oaths and commitments that weigh the historic burden of the struggle for liberation and the revolution.

Having the honor of being part of this radical component of resistance and militant struggle, I will defend to the deepest darkness the path of fire that is tearing the world in two, passing through the temples and sweatshops of bourgeois terror. Armed with the weaponized refusal to be a spectator to the passage of history, I defend the individual and collective tasks of the revolutionary war to the end.

No matter how many years may have to pass, no matter how many times I may have to die of deprivation and loss, I will hold, with the same inexorable pride, the thought that even in the calmest sea the foam from the dying of the waves will remain to remind me of the crash after the turbulence.

Never bowing down

Unyielding until total liberation

*Refers to the horrific train disaster that took place outside the town of Tempe near the city of Larissa. 57 people were killed due to staff shortages and substandard equipment cause by austerity measures.
