While the invasion attack launched by the Turkish army against Zap and Metina continues, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is responding with actions. According to the information obtained from guerrilla sources, intense guerrilla actions continue against the invading Turkish army in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area of the Martyr Delîl West Zap region.
HPG Press Center said, “Our forces carried out effective actions against the invading Turkish army, which was trying to settle in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area of the Martyr Delîl West Zap region with helicopters. In the actions led by mobile teams on 21 July in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area: 14 invaders were punished, 1 invader was injured and 1 Skorsky helicopter was hit. At the same time, 1 mobesse camera system, 1 grenade launcher, military and vital materials belonging to the invaders were destroyed. In the action held in Metîna on July 19: 2 invaders were punished and 1 position was destroyed.”
HPG also stated the following regarding the actions of the guerrilla forces and the details of the Turkish army’s attacks:
“Martyr Delîl West Zap region:
- On July 21, at 08:00, the invaders in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were hit with medium automatic weapons by our YJA Star moving teams.
- On July 21, at 08:30, the invaders in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were hit from both sides by our YJA Star moving teams, using coordinated guerrilla tactics. In this action, 2 invaders were punished.
- On July 21, at 08:50, the invaders in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were targeted with medium automatic weapons and shot at close range. In this action, 3 invaders were punished.
- On July 21, at 09:30, the invaders trying to take positions in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were targeted and shot at close range by our mobile teams. While the 2 targeted positions were completely destroyed, a total of 6 invaders were punished. At the same time, 1 mobesse camera system, 1 grenade launcher and vital materials were destroyed.
- On July 21, between 12:25 and 12:40, the invaders trying to take positions in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were targeted and shot simultaneously with the assassination tactic. In these actions, 3 invaders were punished.
- On July 21, at 13:20, 1 Skorsky helicopter, which came to collect the dead and wounded in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, was hit with heavy weapons by our YJA Star teams. The helicopter that was hit had to move away from the resistance area.
- On July 21, at 17:50, the military and vital materials that the invaders dropped from the helicopter were targeted and destroyed in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area.
- On July 21, at 19:00, the invaders trying to cut down trees in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were targeted and shot by our YJA Star moving teams with an assassination tactic. 1 invader was injured in this action.
Metina region:
- On July 19, at 11:00, the base of the invading Turkish army in Kanîmasi was targeted and hit by our mobile teams. 1 position, which was hit effectively at close range, was completely destroyed and the 2 invaders in it were punished.
The attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army:
- On 21 and 22 July, Martyr Delîl West Zap region 21 times, Kurojahro Resistance Area 2 times; It was bombed with warplanes 23 times in total.
- On 21 and 22 July, the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area of the Martyr Delîl West Zap region was bombed with 32 attack helicopters.
- Zap and Martyr Delîl West Zap region was bombed dozens of times with howitzers, tanks and heavy weapons.”
