BEHDINAN – HPG-BİM said in a written statement, “The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, which started its march with the first bullet of our Immortal Commander Comrade Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz) on 15 August, has been fighting nonstop for 39 years. Our guerrilla, fighting with the Apoist self-sacrificing spirit, following the line of martyrs and fighting with the Egîd style, is leading our struggle for freedom with great self-sacrifice. Our forces, who are fighting with the same spirit, consciousness, belief, and determination, gave a historical lesson to the invading Turkish army on the eve of the Resurrection Day, on August 9 and 10,” he said.
A TOTAL OF 32 INVASORS WERE PUNISHED IN 31 GIRÊ CÛDI
The statement continued:
“As part of the occupation operation in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, a Revolutionary Operation was carried out by our forces against the invaders who wanted to advance in the Resistance Area. Rich guerrilla tactics, from attack to infiltration, from assassination to sabotage, from coups to heavy weapons, which lasted for one day and one night, were put into practice with great creativity. The mobile guerrilla teams in the field and the expert teams based on the tunnels successfully applied the period tactic and guerrilla style in a complementary, harmonious and coordinated manner. Within the scope of this Revolutionary Operation carried out for 24 hours against the invaders with the Apoist self-sacrificing spirit, high tactical intelligence and great patience; 44 actions were carried out, 31 invaders were punished and 7 invaders were injured.
In addition, our forces carried out different actions from Girê Cûdî to Zap, Metîna and Xakurkê. In all guerrilla actions carried out: In total, 32 invaders were punished and 11 invaders were injured.”
DETAILS OF ACTIONS
HPG-BİM gave the details of the actions carried out by the guerrilla forces and the attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army as follows:
Martyr Delîl West Zap region:
- On August 9, at 08:40, 10:00 and 13:40, the invaders who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were hit three times with heavy weapons. In these actions carried out by our YJA Star forces, 1 invader was punished.
- On August 9, at 10:00, an attack was carried out against the invaders who were trying to advance in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area. Our forces, who went against the invaders with great courage, hit the invaders with hand grenades and individual weapons. In this attack action, 9 invaders were punished and 7 invaders were injured. Later, the invaders who tried to retreat were shot with medium automatic and heavy weapons, and 2 invaders were punished here.
- On August 9, at 12:20, an invader using a bicycle weapon was targeted and shot with an assassination tactic in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, and this invader was punished. The invaders, who were trying to escape from fear in order not to be hit, were targeted with the assassination tactic and 3 more invaders were punished. These actions were carried out by our YJA Star forces.
- On August 9, at 13:30, the invaders, who came as reinforcements to replace the punished invaders in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, were targeted with sabotage tactics and shot, and 2 invaders were punished. This action was carried out by our YJA Star forces.
- On August 9, at 14:00, a drone in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area was targeted with the assassination tactic and shot down in the air and this drone was destroyed.
- On August 9, at 14:00 and 15:00, the invaders who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were targeted with the assassination tactic, and 2 invaders were punished. These actions were carried out by our YJA Star forces.
- On August 9, at 15:20, the invaders, who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, were hit with medium automatic weapons and the movement of the invaders was stopped.
- On August 9, at 18:30, 1 invader, who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, was targeted and shot with the assassination tactic, and this invader was punished.
- On August 9, at 20:00, heavy weapons were attacked 9 times against the Skorsky helicopters that wanted to land in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area. These helicopters had to leave the area without being able to land.
- Between 21:40 and 01:00 on August 9, the invaders who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were attacked 15 times with individual, medium automatic and heavy weapons. In these actions, 3 invaders were punished.
- At 01:20 on August 10, the invaders who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were targeted and shot with sabotage tactics and 2 invaders were punished.
- On August 10, at 01:30, the invaders took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area and were hit with heavy weapons.
- On August 10, at 02:20, an action was carried out with the tactic of infiltration against the invaders in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area. 2 invaders who were shot at close range with hand grenades and personal weapons were punished.
- On August 10, at 03:00, the invaders in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were hit with an assassination tactic and 2 invaders were punished.
- One invader who took action in Girê Cûdî Resistance Area at 03:15 on 10 August was shot and punished with an assassination tactic. This action was carried out by our YJA Star forces.
- Between 03:30 and 04:00 on 10 August, the invaders who took action in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area were intervened with heavy weapons and the movement of the invaders was stopped.
- The invading Turkish army, which suffered a heavy blow and suffered a defeat in the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, bombarded the Resistance Area with attack helicopters and warplanes nonstop during the night between 9 August and 10 August. The Turkish army, carrying out intense bombardments, retreated one level and tried to remove the dead and wounded from the area.
Zap area:
- On August 9, at 17:30, the bucket trying to destroy our resistance positions in the Sîda Resistance Area was hit with heavy weapons.
Metina area:
- On August 9, at 09:00, the invaders in the Girê Ortê Resistance Area were hit with heavy weapons.
Xakurke region:
- On August 8, the invaders who went into operation in the Girê Martyr Qehreman area were targeted and hit with sabotage tactics at 13:30, and 2 invaders were injured.
- On August 9, while the invaders who went into operation in the Girê Martyr Qehreman area were trying to take positions, they were targeted 3 times with sabotage tactics and 2 invaders were wounded. At 16:00, the invaders were hit once again with sabotage tactics and 1 invader was punished. The operation of the invaders, who were hit in the actions, was withdrawn without result.
- In these actions, 1 invader was punished and 4 invaders were injured by our YJA Star forces; It was held in memory of our immortal commander, Comrade Egîd Garzan, who died on 11 August 2020 while he was serving as the Xakurkê State Command.
Attacks by the invading Turkish army:
- On 4, 7 and 9 August, the Girê Hakkarî Resistance Area in Metîna was bombed 3 times with warplanes.
- On August 9, the Girê Hakkarî Resistance Area in Metîna was bombed 4 times by attack helicopters.
- The Zap, Martyr Delîl Batı Zap, Metîna and Xakurke regions were bombed with artillery.”
