Mapuche Prisoners on Hunger Strike Call for Trawn (Meeting)

The PPM-CAM on hunger strike, held in the Bio Bío CP and the Temuco CP, declare the following:

-Kiñe: That, 4 of us, held in the Bio-Bio prison, we were sentenced without evidence to 15 and a half years in prison, which is why, on November 13, we started a liquid hunger strike, to which the other PPM CAMche joined that endorse this letter.

We point out that this drastic measure will be carried out to the last consequences and its main objectives are synthesized in the following points.

1) Nullity of the flawed trial carried out by the TOP of Los Ángeles.

2) Dignified prison conditions and according to our status as Mapuche political prisoners.

3) Demilitarization of the Wallmapu and in support of the communities in territorial control.

– EPU: that, our condition is of persecuted political prisoners, since we have been arrested and politically processed for reasons that are directly related to the conflict of our people against the Chilean State. Specifically, in our fight against forestry, who are, without a doubt, behind the persecution and repression against our mobilized people.

-Küla: For the above and, due to the political-ideological and cultural persecution that we are subject, with flawed trials, without evidence, which result in previously resolved convictions, more, the violation of all our rights as members of an original people, we call for a trawun on January 3, 2024, on the outskirts of the Biobío de Concepción CP to call for all communities in resistance and the people who are in solidarity with the autonomist Mapuche struggle, on a symbolic date, since it is a new anniversary of the fall of our weichafeyem Matias Catrileo.

-Meli: Finally, as PPM-CAM we have assumed the worthy path of struggle that our ancestors pointed out and that, today, we assumed political imprisonment as another consequence in the process of liberation of our people, we send a fraternal and combative greeting to all lof and communities that maintain resistance and territorial control. To Pu Peñi Ka Pu Lagmien who have not declined despite the militarization and the most repressive laws that seek to crush the resistance of our mobilized people. Highlighting the lof Coi Coi, that in an example of Mapuche value and dignity, resisted the onslaught of the Chilean army, who today, fulfill the sad role of being the new guardians of the forestry, protecting their interests, and in representation of the colonial and capitalist Chilean state. The heroic action of these Weichafe exalts our proposal of struggle and honors the sacrifice of our martyr, the weichafeyem Toño Marchant.

KECHU: Finally, we want to make it very clear that any fatal outcome, both in this strike and in the Mapuche communities in resistance, will correspond to this government complicity in the military occupation, for siding with big capital and the fascist right in the historic wallmapu in order to continue plundering and devastating our ancestral territories.
