Fierce Confrontations in Regional War for Palestine, Conflict Likely to Expand

Resistance operations against the US and Zionist occupation expand in an impressive manner. Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen have each had notable actions against the Western colonial and imperialist forces. However the US continues to launch acts of aggression against Yemen and the Zionist entity threatens to invade Lebanon.

The Palestinian Resistance continues to confront the occupation forces invading Gaza, more than 105 days after the occupation’s aggression against the Strip began.

Some weeks ago, the Zionist occupation claimed that its forces took control of Jabalia, and “dismantled the framework” of the Resistance in Gaza.

However, nearly four months into the aggression, the Resistance continues to ambush and strike the invading forces across the northern part of the Strip, including Jabalia.

In a statement, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement’s Al-Quds Brigades announced on Friday the targeting of a military vehicle with a Tandem charge east of Jabalia.

The Resistance group further revealed that its fighters are engaged in fierce confrontations with the occupation soldiers in the eastern areas of Gaza City.

Occupation forces repositioned in Gaza

For their part, the Martyr Omar Al-Qassem Forces, the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), engaged in intense battles with Zionist forces in the southern area of al-Namsawi street and in the Batin al-Sameen residential bloc in Khan Younis, also detonating an explosive device in military vehicles advancing in the area. The group confirmed the targeted vehicles took direct damage.

Resistance fighters of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades also confronted invading forces in Khan Younis, striking a D9 military bulldozer in Khan Younis City using RPG shells.

Reports state that the Zionist occupation military forces in al-Bureij and al-Maghazi refugee camps are being covered with intense bombings amid fierce Resistance.

Meanwhile, occupation forces have repositioned themselves within Gaza City, including the southwest area of the city, and military vehicles have returned to areas in northern Gaza, but were stationed in new sites.

One of the most signficant battles

During the first week of the launch of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, the Zionist regime reported that some 1,200 settlers were killed in Resistance operations.

In a broadcast videotaped address earlier this week marking the 100th day of the war on the Gaza Strip, Hamas’ Al-Qassam spokesperson Abu Obeida said that the losses incurred by the occupation, throughout its invasion of the Gaza Strip, surpass those inflicted on it on October 7.

In terms of numbers, the spokesperson said al-Qassam fighters destroyed and targeted around 1,000 military vehicles in Gaza.

He added that the ground operations conducted by the Resistance fighters, in the context of the ongoing battle, “will go down in our Ummah’s history as one of the greatest and holiest struggles.”

Al-Aqsa Flood is a critical point in the history of the Palestinian people and the Ummah, Abu Obeida said, declaring it is a “scream that resonated [deeply], freeing the [entire] nations and colonized people.”

Palestinian Resistance efforts from the previous day

Al-Qassam Brigades announced that its Resistance fighters targeted a Merkava tank in al-Bureij camp using a locally made al-Yassin 105 shell and shelled occupation forces in the camp with mortar shells.

Al-Qassam snipers also targeted a soldier in al-Bureij using a homemade al-Ghoul rifle and targeted two other soldiers in Khan Younis.

East of Khan Younis, the Brigades targeted three Merkava tanks with a homegrown Explosively Formed Penetrator, Shawaz, killing two raiding soldiers, prompting an occupation helicopter to land to evacuate the killed and wounded soldiers.

Al-Qassam Brigades released footage showing its fighters targeting Zionist forces advancing near the border of Gaza City with mortar shells and 107mm rocket artillery.

In addition, the Palestinian Resistance fighters blew up a tunnel with a number of occupation soldiers inside, causing casualties among them after managing to lure them to al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

The Brigades also confirmed targeting a fortified building housing special forces with four RPG shells and engaged with soldiers using automatic weapons, in addition to targeting an Israeli soldier in the Sheikh Ajleen neighborhood, west of Gaza City, with snipers.

In al-Zaytun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, al-Qassam fighters targeted a tank with an al-Yassin 105 shell, as well as a military vehicle with an RPG shell.

The Brigades also detonated an anti-personnel explosive device against an occupation force and later engaged in direct confrontations with the force’s soldiers in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.

Al-Quds Brigades

Meanwhile, al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, announced shelling a grouping of soldiers and vehicles positioned in al-Zaytun neighborhood, east of Gaza City, with mortar shells, and engaging in fierce confrontations with the soldiers in the area using machine guns.

In the central Gaza Strip, al-Quds Brigades targeted a grouping of forces east of al-Bureij camp and another in the Sa’aida area, east of the al-Maghazi camp.

The Brigades confirmed targeting a  military vehicle with a Tandem rocket-propelled grenade, east of Jabalia, and released footage of targeting Zionist military gatherings in al-Bureij with 107mm and Badr 1 rocket artillery.

Other Palestinian Resistance factions

In the same context, al-Mujahideen Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Mujahideen movement, announced shelling the settlement of “Nahal Oz” in the Gaza Envelope with a barrage of rockets.

Al-Mujahideen Brigades also mourned Nazih Abu Draz, one of its field commanders, who was martyred during a field mission in the Aabsan area, east of Khan Younis.

Meanwhile, the martyr Omar al-Qassem forces, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), engaged in intense confrontations in the south of al-Namsawi and Batn al-Samin neighborhoods in Khan Younis and detonated an explosive device against the infiltrating occupation vehicles in the area, achieving direct hits.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades targeted a D9-type military bulldozer with RPG shells south of Khan Younis.

Earlier, al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees in Palestine, announced that an occupation strike killed Ohad Yahalomi, an Israeli officer taken captive on October 7.

In a statement, the Brigades detailed that the officer taken captive was targeted by the Zionist army along with the group responsible for guarding him, resulting in his moderate injury, which was treated.

However, warplanes deliberately targeted Yahalomi again a few days ago with the intention of killing him, and despite their efforts to save his life, he was killed, the Resistance group’s statement added.

Northern Front

Hezbollah confirmed on Friday that its fighters carried out three operations against occupation sites and gatherings of the occupation soldiers on the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.

In a statement, Hezbollah reiterated that the operations come in support of the resilient Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in solidarity with their brave and honorable Resistance.

The Resistance’s operations were distributed as follows:

Eastern Sector

  1. At 3:15 PM, Hezbollah fighters targeted soldiers positioned between the al-Samaqa and al-Ramtha sites in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with a Burkan rocket, achieving a direct hit.
  2. At 4:00 PM, Resistance fighters targeted a gathering of soldiers on Mount Nothor with rocket artillery, causing a direct hit.

Western Sector

  1. At 4:15 PM, the Resistance targeted the deployment of occupation forces in the vicinity of Khirbet Ma’ar base with a Burkan rocket, achieving direct hits.

Zionist media are once again underlining that the situation at the Lebanese border area with occupied Palestine is “extremely difficult”, stressing that it would grow more difficult as time goes on.

Hezbollah, Zionist media reports reveal, has “established a security belt several kilometers inside ‘Israel’ using its military capabilities and through its operations” against the occupation.

A couple of days ago, the Zionist Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that “Israel’s” losses on the northern front are on a seamless uptick as the fighting continues and amid an increase in displacement from the settlements near the Lebanese borders.

Ynet, the newspaper’s online portal, reported that fear of Hezbollah’s firepower has caused extensive financial damages to northern settlers, mainly to farmers, because they are unable to work on the farmland they had usurped from the people of northern Palestine and southern Lebanon. According to the Zionist outlet, the losses amount to 500 million shekels ($131 million).

Futhermore, reports state that the Zionist regime informed the US regime that an operation targeting Lebanon may be imminent.

Iraqi Resistance shoots down US MQ-9 drone amid CENTCOM silence

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has announced its responsibility for taking down a high-tech MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations.

In a statement released on Friday night, the Islamic Resistance revealed details behind a supposed drone crash in the Diyala Governate, in Iraq, which took place on Thursday night.

Although people were able to rush to the scene of the crash on Thursday, no official statement was released regarding the incident, which was met with a blackout, especially among Western and US-based media outlets.

On Friday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, in a statement, said its fighters targeted a US MQ-9 drone at 6:45 pm (local time) on January 18, 2023. The Iraqi Resistance revealed that the drone had taken off from the US Ali Salem airbase in Kuwait and was shot down over the Diyala Governate, which came in line with the faction’s continued operation against the “US occupation in Iraq and the region” and in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The statement also said that the operation came in defense of Iraq’s sovereignty and response to the constant violations of the country’s airspace by US forces.

To this moment, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has not released a statement, which it usually does in similar incidents, thus contradicting its common practice.

Second MQ-9 downed by Axis of Resistance

This is the second US-operated MQ-9 drone shot down by factions of the Axis of Resistance since October 7.

On November 8, 2023, several thousand kilometers away from Diyala, the Yemeni Armed Forces published footage of an operation that they had launched on the day to take down a US-operated MQ-9 reaper drone in Yemeni airspace.

The MQ-9 drone is capable of carrying multiple missiles and has been reportedly used in high-profile assassination plots conducted by the United States in the region. The system costs the US tens of millions of dollars, as capitalist media reports its price at $32 million. The fact that multiple factions of the Axis of Resistance have now proved their ability to take down the high-tech system sheds light on the Resistance’s ability to confront the world’s most advanced military, using available and limited resources.

Ansarallah Resistance

The recent American-British aggression on Hodeidah has confirmed the two countries’ “shared desire to escalate and expand the conflict” in the region, a Yemeni official said.

The Yemeni official expressed deep concern over the sustained aggression by the United States and Britain on Yemen, coupled with their ongoing militarization of the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, emphasizing that these actions pose a “real and serious threat to international navigation.”

Highlighting the significance of the massive popular demonstrations in Sanaa and various Yemeni provinces, the official underscored the unity of the Yemeni masses and their steadfast support of their leadership, stating that these demonstrations come “in support of Palestine and backing its legitimate Resistance.”

He further explained that the large turnouts to these weekly marches oblige the Yemeni leadership to respond to the American-British aggression and continue offering military support to Palestine.

Importantly, the official said that  Yemen’s response to ongoing US-UK violations “is imminent,” as the official underscored a steadfast belief that the American-British aggression is “doomed to fail.”

In the same context, the official pointed out that despite nine years of aggression and blockade on Yemen, the objectives that eluded American and British forces during this period will not be attainable in their renewed aggression. The Yemeni source emphasized the resilience of the Yemeni people in the face of adversity and their determination to thwart external interventions in their sovereign affairs.

Although the Yemeni Armed Forces have escalated their operations, targeting US-owned ships in the Gulf of Aden on Wednesday and Thursday, Sanaa has promised a wider-scale response to the US-led violations in Yemen.

The mother of terrorism

In response to these aggressions, the Yemeni people took to the streets on Friday, organizing a “million-man march” in the capital, Sanaa.

Those participating in the demonstration, dubbed “Steadfast with Palestine, US mother of terrorism,” reiterated their support for the Palestinian people and condemnation of the US-UK aggression on Yemen.

A statement from the marches in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen, declared that the US-UK aggression will not deter the Yemeni people from supporting occupied Palestine.

The statement further affirmed Yemen’s steadfast stance alongside occupied Palestine, stressing its continued mobilization across various levels, including the military operations being carried out in the Red and Arabian Seas.

The protest’s slogan comes in response to Washington’s decision to consider Sanaa’s leading party, the Ansar Allah Movement a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.” On the other hand, the Yemeni people responded by branding the US government as “the mother of terrorism.”

The White House has explicitly admitted to blackmailing the Yemeni people with the designation, saying that the decision would be quickly reviewed if the YAF halts its operations in the Red Sea.

However, both officials and the masses have re-affirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, in the face of an ongoing US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
